ok, the Danish charts have me confused.

When did they begin? How did they change over the decades? Why is only 2001-2007 avaliable on the internet?

Just two hits apiece for Queen and 3T in the periods I have:

FIVE LIVE EP (Queen/George Michael/Lisa Stansfield) - in and out of the top 10 from 14/05/1993 until 09/12/1993 ( 02 02 04 04 03 03 ?? ?? ?? 03 05 06 07 08 08 10 ?? ?? ?? 07 03 07 08 07 05 08 ?? ?? ?? ?? 08 ?? 07 )

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST (Queen vs Miami Project) - 13 in week 53 of 2006, then 15 in week 5 of 2007.

3T - ANYTHING - 19 11 19 04 19 11 (1996 weeks 10 - 15)

3T - WHY - 15 16 12 15 16 19 XX 18 10 13 (1996 weeks 36 - 45)

And rather more than this for Michael Jackson:

GIVE IN TO ME 08 08 07 08 (18/03/1993 - 09/04/1993)

EARTHSONG 09 07 06 04 04 03 04 03 05 03 05 06 05 06 04 06 05 06 05 10 12 12 10 12 XX 19 (1995 week 46 - 1996 week 20)

THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT US 03 04 04 05 06 08 10 12 12 20 09 12 14 XX 14 (1996 weeks 14 - 28)

STRANGER IN MOSCOW 06 17 20 10 04 15 15 19 (1996 weeks 39 - 46)

BLOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR 07 01 01 04 13 16 XX XX XX 16 (1997 weeks 18 - 27)

YOU ARE NOT ALONE 05 06 04 06 07 10 13 16 (1997 weeks 25 - 32)

HISTORY 10 XX 16 07 13 16 16 XX 12 19 XX XX XX XX 19 (1997 weeks 29 - 43)

GHOSTS 17 14 (1997 weeks 39/40)

I don't have anything at all for albums - but I think there is a weekly archive on the same link I mentioned earlier, probably from 2000/2001 to the present?

Not necessarily....... looking at the chart runs side by side for weeks 29 to 43 of 1997:

HISTORY 10 XX 16 07 13 16 16 XX 12 19 XX XX XX XX 19
GHOSTS XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX 17 14 XX XX XX

it's possible that it was a double-A-side, and "Ghosts" was just the featured track in those two weeks:

Did any of these artists chart in Denmark prior to 2001?
Tiesto, Sonique, Rockell, Leann Rimes, Robyn, Olive, Milk Inc., La Bouche, Faithless, Eiffel 65, Destiny's Child, DJ Sammy, Darude, Daft Punk, DHT, ATB, Amber, Deborah Cox, Aaliyah, Alice Deejay, or Ace of Base?

My notes of the countries from which her hits reached the Europarade are unfortunately very incomplete - but it would appear that she did at least chart briefly in the top 15 in Denmark with "Boys". In its 19th week in the Europarade (03/12/87) it scored 14 points, charting in Austria and Denmark.

Ace Of Base

"Wheel Of Fortune", "All That She Wants" and "Happy Nation" all charted in Denmark in late 1992 - they were all in the Europarade for a while on the strength of high positions in this country alone. I don't have those details to hand just now - but from 1993 I have partial runs of 02 02 06 of "ATSW" (15/01/1993 - 29/01/1993) and 01 04 03 04 04 09 for "HN" (15/01/1993 - 19/02/1993)

After those:

"Waiting For Magic" - 04 02 02 03 07 10 (23/04/1993- 28/05/1993)

"The Sign" - 01 02 01 01 (18/11/1993 - 09/12/1993) (incomplete)

"Lucky Love" 02 03 02 03 04 05 03 05 XX 11 07 15 XX 11 (week 41 of 1995 - week 3 of 1996)

"Beautiful Life" - 12 18 (weeks 2 and 3 of 1996)

"Life Is A Flower" - 15 10 08 05 15 XX 04 12 16 19 (weeks 17 to 26 of 1998)

I don't see many appearances of the other listed acts before 2001 - only these.......

Aaliyah

"Are You That Someone" - 16 in week 46 of 1998

ATB

"9 pm (Till I Come)" - 09 09 06 04 04 03 04 04 06 09 09 09 08 XX 09 09 (weeks 8 - 23 of 1999)

"Don't Stop" - 08 08 (weeks 22 and 23 of 1999)

Daft Punk

"Da Funk" - 14 in week 15 of 1997

"Around The World" - 20 in weeks 26 and 28 of 1997

"One More Time" - 09 09 14 15 in weeks 47 - 50 of 2000, and four other earlier weeks

Darude

"Sandstorm" - 03 in week 34 of 2000 (its third week) and 19 in week 36 of 2000 (its fourth week)

Destiny's Child

"No No No" - 17 XX XX 12 06 12 XX XX XX 12 17 (weeks 14 to 24 of 1998)

"Independent Woman" - 08 03 05 04 IN (probably 02) (weeks 48 - 52 of 2000) and one earlier week (02 if lower than this in week 52!)

Faithless

"Insomnia" - 16 07 08 06 05 05 05 03 10 04 11 11 09 XX 11 XX XX 10 07 08 XX ?? XX XX XX XX XX 17 (week 39 of 1996 - week 14 of 1997)

"God Is A DJ" - 09 10 12 14 05 04 05 10 06 07 07 07 06 (weeks 36-48 of 1998)

La Bouche

"Be My Lover " - 19 XX 18 XX XX 19 (weeks 26 - 31 of 1995)

"You Won't Forget Me" - 20 in week 52 of 1997

Leann Rimes

"Can't Fight The Feeling" - 09 in week 52 of 2000 (its third week)

Robyn

"Do You Know" - 18 in week 11 of 1996

Sonique

"Sky" - 12 11 12 15 16 16 (weeks 39 - 44 of 2000)

Thanks.
I know nothing about albums - but it seems to be a country in which some extremely long chart-runs occur for singles. There are currently a few, as mentioned on this thread:

including one that is coming up to 150 weeks on the chart, the vast majority of them in the top three!! But even back in the 80's / 90's, there were occasionally Danish hits that spent ages and ages in the Europarade based only on their high position in Denmark. One was by Kim Larsen, and another was called something like "Buba's Bubaka" - I don't think I ever discovered what the proper spelling should be!! Unfortunately, the compilation of the Europarade is now different, so one-country hits now chart much less often.

Thanks.

I vaguely remember that "Like a Yoyo" charted in the Europarade thanks to Denmark in early 1989, meaning that she must have reached at least around number 5 or 6 on the Danish chart, while flopping elsewhere with that single.

The one by Kim Larsen was called "Tarzan Mama Mia" and indeed spent 37 weeks on the Europarade between July 1989 and March 1990, only charting in Denmark. It was 33 weeks at number 1 in Denmark in total, its run at the top only briefly interrupted for 3 weeks by Jive Bunny's "Swing the Mood". It was also a very good song by the way...

The other hit you mentioned is actually "Bubber's Badekar" by Bubber, which was in the Europarade from 24/3/90 to 1/9/90 and returned for further weeks from 24/11/90 to 2/2/91, so presumably it spent almost a year without interruption in the Danish top 10.

At least for the Kim Larsen single, it seems to have sold a lot: the presenter of the Europarade once mentioned that every 10th Danish household owned a copy of that record!

The longevity achieved by recent singles like the one from Trine Dyrholm however IMO is more likely due to the currently very low singles sales (as downloads are not elegible for the chart in this country).
