One of the best things to happen to Pop - my Christmas of 2001 was ruined!

A part of me still misses something as cheesy as them, plus an interesting fact that we don't have any multi-sex Pop groups like we did back in the 90's!

Maybe they will spring a surprise comeback on us someday. [/wishful_thinking]

Oh indeed! So much for 'we will be here in 2002', they ruined my Christmas holidays :(

When they were around they were my favourite band ever, I even liked them more than Britney!

Props to them though, and a lot of other acts at the time, B*witched, S Club, Billie, Five etc...they all struggled to get decent airplay and had to rely on their crazy fans picking their songs on The Box constantly and magazines like Smash Hits and TOTP to get promotion.
Of course, oddly with all the different genre radio stations, there never appeared to be a national station dedicated to pure pop, despite it being what a lot of the public wanted to hear in the 90s/early 00s

These were my favourite group for an awful long time. I saw them live, I've got 6+ of their CD singles and all of their albums. I've not listened to them for at least five years though, and I doubt I'll ever put them on again.

Well I have to admit they're one of my all time favourite acts. I've majorly grown out of them now and never listen to them anymore but at the time I loved them and really fancied Lisa. I can still remember a few of the dance routines!

I bet they reform for a tour in a few years when Lisa runs out of celebrity reality shows.

I have some of their singles, but the only songs I can remember is 5,6,7,8 actually.

:o :o

How many sexes were represented in Steps???

And which were the intrasex members? (No pun intended)

My boot-scooting baby is driving me kur-azy
My obsession with a Western, my dance hall daze
My rodeo Romeo, my cowboy guy from head to toe
Gonna make you mine! Better get in line!
5 - 6 - 7 - 8 !!!

Apart from that appalling first single, they weren't too bad. I think I read something at the time along the lines of "5, 6, 7, 8! being (one of) the biggest selling singles ever in the UK not to reach the Top 10.

That first single is the only one I like
All other songs they released IMO are Better Best Forgotten (well, The Way You Make Me Feel excluded, maybe).
And, yes, 5,6,7,8, sold 230k as far as I know

I probably should have said 'unisex' as it would have been more fitting.

'5, 6, 7, 8' was, indeed, one of the highest sellers not to make Top 10 - in fact it was their 5th highest selling single out of 15! It's total figures were 304k. :o

Let's not talk about it, yeah?

This should be in the obsessions topic, but every CD single, every album, every tour, every video, every DVD, even the boardgame.

What a gimp, fortunately I'm over it now.

I actually still like their song 'Last Thing On My Mind'. I think it was their second single.
