Well it looks like one of the classic diva's of pop is making a come backk...

2010 just got a whole lot gayer with news that one of pops most legendary pioneers, Cher, will release a new studio album this year.

Fresh from filming her big screen return with Christina Aguilera in the musical Burlesque, Cher will officially launch her new single “Already Been There” at the World Music Awards on May 18 in Monaco.

The new album will reportedly have a “rock” sound, which a return to form for Cher who scored some of her biggest hits with her rock-tinged stadium anthems like “I Found Someone” and “Turn Back Time”.

“This is going to be by far the most successful album Cher has recorded in her 45 year career,” a rep for the singer announced this week. {source}

That’s a pretty big call since the 63-year-old Cher has sold well over 100 million albums worldwide, but she hasn’t released a new studio album in almost a decade so it’s about time that the Queen returned to give these young women of today a lesson in how it’s really done.

Besides her new album Cher will also appear on the soundtrack to Burlesque, which is rumored to contain a duet between herself and Christina Aguilera.

Cher is also considering going back on tour once her current stint at Caesars Palace runs out, even though her three year, $250 million grossing ‘Farewell Tour’ was supposed to be her last.

Well I'm pretty excited to see what she'll bring this time around.
Alot's changed on the music scene since "Living Proof" in 2002 but I'm sure she'll bring something extra special.
Anyone think that there might be an Xtina collaboration ?
Guess it depends how well the Diva's got on on the set of "Burlesque".
Happy endings are just stories that haven't finished yet...

Well I'm excited to hear exactly how "rock" the album will be.
Alot of people only know Cher recently for the success of "Believe" but if you delve deeper into her career she's done almost everything.
Another tour is happening as well apparently.
Won't miss out this time!

Don't like "rock" Cher, she was always much better at doing dance.

I dont think its true as there has been no official confirmation..

i had read about this 3 months back on wikipedia but now it has been removed..i also read that deluxe edition would have 19 songs..

but i guess these all are rumors.

moreover there are no reports of cher performing at WMA..

i would love anything by cher..

even another NOT.COM.MERCIAL would do..

i have her whole catalog, i love rock stuff including
love hurts and heart of stones..and dance stuff is cool too..

she has tried every genre..from disco to dance, folk to pop to rock..she is the queen..

hope we get something this year..

Cher reveals that she is in the beginning stages of starting her next album!
She’s working with songwriter Diane Warren who also wrote one of Cher’s big numbers in the upcoming Burlesque, ”You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me.”

“It really won’t be Believe-ish. It will be more…I don’t know how to say it. I can’t put a genre to it. It’s a little bit more real instruments, like guitars and stuff like that.
“I just got some of the songs and I’m just learning [them] so I’m kind of at that beginning stage where you’re taking baby steps.

So much for "no official word" huh ?
Sneaky Cher,lol
It don't get much more official than coming from the tightend face does it?
Sounds like its still in early stages and she's probably been toying around with various things over the years but it seems that "Burlesque" has spurred her on into releasing something new.

So there'll be a final-final-final-final-final-final-final-farewell tour in 2011?

It's A Man's World and Living Proof are my favourite Cher albums, though I have a soft spot for Love Hurts too. It was the second Cher album I owned after Believe when I was only a child and she was my favourite artist  (I got it for my seventh birthday  ) and I always found that the music was a completely different genre to the music on Believe fascinating, so it will always be a special album to me.

+1 Bring rock Cher back. And something better than the Burlesque single please. That song is OK but nothing more, it kinda reminds me of Many Rivers To Cross (only that one was 20 times better)
