From Music Week.

Arguably the Olympics organisers' favourite artist - she appeared in the opening ceremony and twice in the closing ceremony - Emeli Sande reaps the rewards with her debut album Our Version Of Events returning to number one on sales of 30,825 copies. The album has now had four runs at the summit - it debuted at number one, returned to pole position on its third and 15th week on the chart, and now jumps 4-1 on its 27th straight week in the Top 10. Only 13 albums in chart history have had more than four separate runs at number one, the most recent being Adele's 21.

Our Version Of Events has sold 621,301 copies since its release in February. It is the biggest selling 2012 artist album release, ahead of Lana Del Rey's Born To Die which opened at number one two weeks before Our Version Of Events, and has thus far sold 524,887 copies. Overall, Sande's album is the second biggest selling artist album of 2012, behind the aforementioned Adele set 21, which has sold 647,176 copies this year to increase its cumulative sales to 4,419,522.

Great total sales and we're still waiting for re-release. Along with Christmas sales, she could double her current numbers and even end @ #1 on YEC. But, if Take That is still strong, they'll grab that #1 IMO

Take That are releasing in 2013, they just starting to work on their album now.

So I can see this hitting #1 on the Year End Charts.

UK Mids

OVOE #1 :D

Bloc Party have their eyes set on the top prize in the Official Albums Chart race this week. Following a three year hiatus, the British four-piece are back with new offering Four (2), but, as of today, trail Emeli Sande (1) today by a nail-biting 200 copies.

Meanwhile Emeli Sande’s post-Olympics sales momentum continues as the singer/songwriter’s debut album Our Version Of Events maintains a tight lead at the helm, and also closes the gap on Adele’s 21 as the biggest selling album of the year to date. As of midnight last night, Our Version Of Events is now just 17,000 copies away from eclipsing the 2012 sales of Adele’s record-breaking album.

If it's 10K, it's 10K. But they did not have to reduce the price down to £3.00 to reach 10K.

From The OCC

Emeli Sande basks in what is turning into a truly breakthrough year, as the singer/songwriter’s post-Olympic sales momentum continues this week helping her to a fifth non-consecutive week at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, 28 weeks after release.

The recent boost given to double platinum album Our Version Of Events has seen Sande close in on fellow solo star Adele and her record-breaking album 21.

This week’s performance puts Sande’s Our Version Of Events just over 6,000 copies behind Adele’s 21 in the race to be the biggest selling album of 2012 so far, having sold nearly 647,000 copies since its February 2012 release. The album has never dropped out of the albums Top 10 since.

Digitally speaking, in the year to date Our Version Of Events has eclipsed 21’s performance, selling nearly 200,000 copies of the album as downloads, versus 21’s 158,000. However, there is still a long way to go for Sande, and indeed most other artists, before reaching 21’s total lifetime sale of over 4.42m copies in the UK alone.
