Released: 22nd October 2001.
The third Gorillaz single has two notable differences from the previous two: no vocals from Damon Albarn, and no Ed Case remix. These two factors, particularly the latter, played a large part in the success of "Clint Eastwood" and "19/2000", so it will be interesting to see how well this does. However, this track does grow on you with a few listens - even the badly-played recorder part! In fact, the sheer weirdness of this single is probably its best quality.
It's difficult to place the music of the Gorillaz into a specific genre, and their third single proves their versatility even more. Without a trace of Damon Albarn's vocals on the track, this is a laid back rap tune. Unfortunately, the song doesn't serve up much impact and is unlikely to make a huge impression on sales charts. Like their past singles, what this needs is a remix to really rock the house!
