Released: 15th July 2002.
Angie Stone takes a leap back to the days of classic soul with the second single from "Mahogany Soul". Using a well known sample from the O'Jays' "Back Stabbers", "Wish I Didn't Miss You" oozes class, whilst the lady herself lays down her usual old school harmonies. Unfortunately this track lacks crossover appeal, and will only be picked up by dedicated lovers of soul; but then, that's part of Angie's appeal.
This is a poor follow up single after a song like "Brother". It has somehow managed to find its way into the Top 100 on import sales alone, but I think it will probably just scrape the Top 40. It doesn't really have a good tune, though the beat isn't bad. All in all I think this may have been the wrong single to release off the album - Angie could have done a lot better than this.
