Released: 11th November 2008.
Budding country/pop sensation Taylor Swift gears up for the release of her sophomore effort, 'Fearless', and the end product is shockingly impressive.
Lyrically, the maturity of the album belies the tender age of the seventeen year-old mastermind behind them. Some of the album's most obvious highlights include "Love Story" (the massive lead single and Taylor's biggest hit to date that puts a modern twist on the classic Romeo and Juliet story), "White Horse" (a stripped ballad that stands out as the most mature moment on the disc armed with a set of heart-wrenching lyrics), "Fifteen" (a cautionary tale for hopelessly romantic young girls), and the notorious "Forever & Always" (the song that sparked controversy after rumours surfaced that it was penned about Joe Jonas, one-third of the popular boy band Jonas Brothers).
"The Way I Loved You" is another very instant gem but the album's best song is unquestionably "You Belong With Me" with its catchy, irresistible hook that gets stuck in your head for days. It's got massive crossover appeal and should end up becoming a massive hit and the future guilty pleasure of millions.
All in all, this album is an immaculate collection from start to finish. Taylor's songwriting ability proves to be well beyond her years and it's a massive step-up from her debut disc. Country fans will be delighted and pop fans will be bewildered by their own love for it.
