Released: 2nd December 2013.
Coming off the high of one of her biggest collaborations, 'Britney Jean' posed various problems with fans and the general public alike. With the album merely being released to promote her Vegas residency, it's clear to see that Britney Spears has had enough. Dubbed her most "personal" album yet, we are faced with manufactured pop with no forward thinking lyrics at all. 'Britney Jean' sounds like it was put together in five minutes with most tracks being forgettable and boring, or sounding like they are rehashed dance tracks from the past two years.
However, there are some good tracks here such as the album opener, "Alien", one of Britney's best songs in years and the Avicii-sounding "Now That I Found You" showing Britney at her best. Unfortunately, the album falls short and is a sub-par piece of work which seems to represent the state of Spears's career. This album highlights that perhaps Brit is content with just singing her old hits in front of tourists at Vegas twice a week, as opposed to actually trying to add some more greatness to her already outstanding catalogue.
