Probably the most original piece of pop music this year, the debut single from female trio Sugababes looks set to be a massive hit! The first thing that struck me about this song is its maturity in contrast to the young faces of its performers. The production is funky without fitting into any genres, and the vocals are soft and sweet, yet extremely tight. The melody is unique and will stick in your head for a long time. This will appeal to everyone, so expect a high new entry!
This song is totally unlike anything around at the moment, and because of this, it's difficult to predict how successful it will be. It's a very simple song, which is slow, but not slow enough to be a ballad. The video is one of the best this year, again being very simple, and all three of the beautiful girls' voices are both unique and mysterious. Hopefully the Sugababes will have a big hit on their hands here.
