Another 80s classic checks in for a looped vocal facelift. This time it's Go West's 1985 hit "We Close Our Eyes" on the operating table. So, how does it turn out - a heavenly rejuvenation, or a botch job? I'm inclined to go with the latter. The problem here is not the production, but rather the choice of song, which, I feel, just doesn't really suit this newly-emerging sub-genre of house. Whereas other similarly conceived tracks have worked very well, there's something lacking here; that unquantifiable X-Factor if you like, all of which renders the end result somewhat disposable, and forgettable.
Hang on... I know that song title. It was a hit for Go West in the 80s, wasn't it? Sadly, yes, it was - and this is a dance version of that same song. Groove Cutters have merely taken the main part of the chorus and repeated it over and over again. Quite possibly one of the worst produced dance covers ever.
