Released: 28th March 2005.
Arguably the best single to be released from "Under My Skin", "He Wasn't" has that "Sk8er Boi" type of sound that was lost in "My Happy Ending" and "Nobody's Home". I really like the 'kicky' feel, and it has a restless, child-like quality that makes it enjoyable to listen to. Hopefully, but not probably, this single will do much better in the charts than its predecessor.
After the success of "Don't Tell Me" and "My Happy Ending", Avril Lavigne's second studio album managed to sell almost half a million copies. However, towards the end of last year, the album's third release, "Nobody's Home", became her lowest charting single, going in at a lowly No. 24. Don't expect "He Wasn't" to better that - it'll probably land somewhere between 40 and 20, and that's if she's lucky. This is a typical boring pop/rock song with nothing special, pretty much like most of Avril's previous releases.
