Released: 11th April 2005.
DJ Tiësto is back with yet another release from his "Just Be" album. He's had a brilliant collection of singles so far, but following "Just Be" and "Love Comes Again", I'm slightly disappointed at the lack of vocals on this track. Nevertheless, it's a definite crowd pleasing dance anthem. You might recognise the sample from Barber's classical piece, which was used back in 1999 on William Orbit's "Barber's Adagio For Strings". Unfortunately, this is less punchy and a bit empty in places, but after a few double vodkas, who cares?
From his latest album "Just Be", DJ Tiësto has chosen "Adagio" as the third single. It's not too difficult to work out that this track is a remake of William Orbit's No. 4 hit "Barber's Adagio For Strings". In fact, remake isn't the right word, as there are hardly any considerable changes made to the track, except that it's become darker and less melodic. Perhaps it would be better to call it a remix. Anyway, "Adagio" is a typical, if not particularly outstanding, techno track, and very disappointing after such masterpieces as "Just Be" and "Love Comes Again".
