They may have dropped down in standards since "No Scrubs", but they're still on great form with this follow up, "Unpretty". It wouldn't be my choice of single from their fantastic "Fanmail" album, but it still has the potential to go far. It's relatively upbeat and, although quite different to their last single, still has the trademark TLC sound.
This song is brilliant. It is lyrically the strongest from an exceptional album, and has a less modern feel to it than songs like "No Scrubs" and "Silly Ho", which is a welcome change. Its only hindrance is that the intro sounds like the Moffatts or Hanson.
