"Disco Infiltrator" is the second cut from LCD Soundsystem's critically acclaimed self-titled album. This single is not a bad effort, and can't be faulted for its individuality, standing out from the crowd with its energetic vocals. Unfortunately though, in its original form, it manages to tread the line between sounding quirky and becoming rather annoying. It definitely isn't something for everyone. Despite this, Francois K's remixes of the track are successful, transforming it into a slice of slightly twisted, yet accessible house. These could well work effectively on the dancefloor, and are worth a listen.
Following up the mighty "Daft Punk Is Playing At My House" was going to be as tricky as Electric Six following up "Danger! High Voltage". However, whilst Electric Six managed to find two singles before fading into obscurity with poor releases, LCD Soundsystem have only managed the one. If this is genuinely the second best track on the album, then quality-wise these guys are one-hit-wonders of the highest order. I feel this is the last we might be hearing of the mighty LCD Soundsystem, sadly.
