Released: 29th August 2005.
Star of MTV's "Newlyweds" and making her first stab at acting with the film adaptation of "The Dukes Of Hazzard", blonde songstress Jessica Simpson also provides the lead song from its soundtrack. A cover of Nancy Sinatra's western classic "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'", Jessica's vocals have improved, with a sound which suits her husky, yet watered-down voice. It also shows how much her musical style has matured after last summer's Top 10 pop delight "With You", even though she strips down to reveal her well toned body in the video. It may be an obvious attempt to sell more records, but it will most likely succeed.
More renowned in the UK for her reality TV show than for her music, Jessica Simpson returns with the showstopper from her debut acting role in the movie "The Dukes Of Hazzard". A reworking of the classic Nancy Sinatra track, Jessica appears to have been taking lessons at the 'Britney Spears School Of Vocals' as she strains and forces her voice through much of the song, which lacks any kind of musical merit. It gets some marks for the sheer fact it's been stuck in my head for the last week... but I think that's more down to Nancy!
