Basement Jaxx - Do Your ThingA most welcome release this week comes from Basement Jaxx, whose creative ideas continue to surprise and even shock. Having already released the extremely lovely "Oh My Gosh" and the criminally ignored "U Don't Know Me" earlier this year, Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe return with a real masterpiece. In what sounds like retro meets modern, the guys have managed to put everything they're capable of into "Do Your Thing". Sounding like something copied from an old vinyl with an added house beat, the result is simply amazing. Expect it to become a well-deserved hit.

Basement Jaxx's recent singles collection has been a truly phenomenal success, showing just how many classics the band have created, but for some reason this was never a hit originally. However, a certain TV advert has played this song to death, so it gets a very deserved release. "Do Your "Thing" should provide the band with a Top 20 hit at least, in spite of how many people have the album.
