Sheryl Crow is a crafty woman, this much I know is true. But can she deliver yet another world-class album?
From the breezy intro of the opener "I Know Why", accompanied by a melodic acoustic guitar and great bongo work, to the raw and rough "Perfect Lie", to the bold single "Good Is Good", Crow's work shows satisfactory contrast with her previous efforts.
Taking her time on the seven minute-long "Chances Are" the singer creates an epic, open-air atmosphere, which makes this one of the album highlights.
Sheryl Crow's crafty nature surprises yet again, with the vocals huskier than before and the music just as good as ever.
