Released: 7th November 2005.
Daniel Powter and James Blunt have produced quite possibly the soundtrack to the summer with their pair of massive singles. However, whilst James Blunt has an album full of brilliant songs, Daniel Powter is already starting to have the words 'one-hit-wonder' written after his song "Bad Day". True, "Free Loop" is a good pop song, and were it released by some new star, you'd say that it was a really great song. As we have to compare it to "Bad Day" though, we know that he's capable of better. I guess we'll have to chalk Daniel Powter up under the category of 'everyone's got a song in them' with his song being "Bad Day", and smile politely at his other work which is nevertheless very decent stuff.
Having had enough bad days in his life, you'd expect Daniel to sing about good days now that his debut single and album have sold well... but he doesn't! This time around he's asking a girl to cheat on her partner and have a one night stand. Lovely! "Free Loop" is a pretty decent follow up to his excellent debut single, and whilst I cannot imagine it being as big, it should land safely inside the Top 10.
