Mariah Carey - Don't Forget About UsSay what you will about comeback kid Mariah Carey - after the 2005 she's enjoyed she'd hardly notice at this point - but you can't deny the hit-churning machine she can be when given the right material. After massive hits all year long, she's aiming to repeat the success of her biggest single "We Belong Together". This newie, "Don't Forget About Us", is essentially the same mid-tempo hip-hop balladry with matching coos and Dupri-stamped production. Cashing in on her biggest song of the year? Well yeah, but the slinky love song seduces just as easily, and with a Paul Hunter-directed video featuring Mariah at her most gorgeous, it's bound to be another Top 5 smash.

To round off the year of the diva, Mariah Carey releases the first single from the re-package of her hit album "The Emancipation Of Mimi". This simple track sounds so so at first, but Mariah's powerful vocals make it so much more that it sounds rather like "We Belong Together" and "Shake It Off" mixed together. The result is a great R&B track that's just right for the Christmas season and sounds as good as the music she was making when she first started out over ten years ago.
