Released: 7th May 2001.
Ruff Ryders' first lady shows that Missy Elliott is not the only female rapper who can produce epic tracks. The funkiest tune released this year so far, "Who's That Girl?" is the latest in a long line of name songs set to storm the chart (after "X", "Snoop Dogg", "Bow Wow (That's My Name)" etc), and with a bit of luck, it may do best. The simple funky backing works a treat with Eve's quality rapping.
So who exactly is this girl? The only female member of hip-hop pioneers Ruff Ryders, Eve's debut UK single is one of the catchiest hip-hop tunes of recent times. This is in part due to its fantastic salsa-style sound, making it an unusual Latin/rap hybrid. It's also helped by a simple, yet effective chorus - just try and listen without singing along!
