Muse - Supermassive Black HoleMuse have finally stepped up to the 'eagerly anticipated whenever they return' standard of rock band now, and with tracks as good as this, it's easy to see why. I've not been a huge Muse fan to date, but more songs like this could turn me. 2006 is launching its own rock sound, with bands like The Fratellis, The Automatic and the comeback of Primal Scream all being in a similar style to this new Muse single. All in all, they're fantastic records, and this deserves to follow the others to the top end of the chart.

From their forthcoming "Black Holes And Revelations" album, Muse promised a slightly dancier sound with this comeback single, not too dissimilar to Franz Ferdinand. The way in which they marry this with their trademark grandiose orchestral sound works surprisingly well, although this is far from their best.
