The issue of 11/26/1988 is disarranged, and at least one page (74) with the Top Compact Disks chart is missing.

According to Joel Whitburn's Record Research books, the charts he uses prior to the one you show above are the Billboard "Record-Buying Guides, which reported record sales on juke boxes." These "Music Box Machine/Record Buying Guides" charts ran from some time in 1938 thru July 20, 1940. Whitburn dates the chart you show above as being July 27, 1940, and is what is called Billboard's "Best Sellers" chart.

I don't know where they are collectively available online, but you can go thru weekly Billboard issues online here:

    https://www.americanradiohistory.com/Bi ... gazine.htm

Or get a copy of Joel's book "America's Greatest Hits 1940-2015 The Top 10 Charts" from his Record Research website.

Note that these "Record Buying Guides" are not 'chart numbered' in Billboard, but are categorized as Going Strong, Coming Up, and Possibilities. Joel simply put numbers to this info himself...

Not really the correct forum to request this. But here's where you can find Bullfrog's latest spreadsheet:

Do you think that old Pop Memories book really is a good source for the 1890’s? I mean, the industry was ridiculously small when Columbia published their first retail list. Honestly couldn’t tell you how many titles were available, but not many.

These reviews by Tim Brooks should shed some light on "Pop Memories"...

I don't have the book myself, but based on this, it might provide some interesting general information on the popular records of the time, but the charts can't be considered very reliable...

    Hi DrTravel

Could you upload the spreadsheet to another file sharing site? For some unknown reason zippyshare have decided to block UK ISP's and a result I can't access the file. Bizarre, I know, but it's being going on for a month now... it's not a case of UK ISP's blocking the site but rather the other way around, Zippyshare is blocking UK ISP's. We just get a "403 Forbidden" message.

Are you in the UK? Zippyshare is blocked in the UK. Bizarrely the block isn't by any ISP, it's by zippyshare itself.
