Bey's streams are so impressive. I wouldn't really consider Alicia one of Britney's main peers, but thought it'd be interesting to add her as she used to be popular back in the 2000s and had many hits that decade. Please note that this list is only for studio albums, so certain orphan songs are excluded (ie: My Only Wish), and no compilation/soundtrack/live albums are included.
Shouldn't Shakira be on the list?

Shakira debuted in the music industry in 1991 (just one year after Mariah Carey). She's not Britney's peer and she has nothing in common background-wise with her either.

People often (and wrongly) mistake her as one of Britney's peers because she became famous in the anglo markets around 2001 but just because she had her english breakthrough in 2001 doesn't mean she wasn't in the music business before.

Britney's main peers are the likes of Beyoncé, P!nk, Xtina, J.Lo, even some others like Alicia Keys or Nelly Furtado.

Shakira is more of a Shania Twain, Alanis Morissette, Mary J Blige, Sheryl Crow peer.

Why wouldn't you include Orphan singles? surely that would paint an actual picture of their streams.

    1. Eminem - 15,020,090,645 (first release: 1996 / major debut in 1998)
    2. Coldplay - 11,579,867,595 (debuted in 1999)

    10. Jennifer Lopez - 2,134,432,922 (debuted in 1998)

The data is obtained from Chartmasters' Spotify link. Take into consideration that Chartmasters doesn't include Britney's "My Only Wish (This Year)" song which has +91million streams rising her total to 3,052,641,397

And today you are doing individual decades but changed the perimeters, it's OK, you do you boo. After all, you are the self appointed leader of the UKMIX Britney chapter.

Were club sales still a thing when Greatest Hits: My Prerogative was released? They were probably dying but earlier this year Billboard reported that its sales were 1.8 million https://www.billboard.com/articles/c...-ask-billboard . I was wondering if it was possible that it could have sold 2 million in pure sales.

“Her songs have drawn 25 billion in cumulative radio airplay audience and 2.6 billion on-demand U.S. audio and video streams combined and she's sold 39.8 million singles (36.9 million via downloads).“
That’s sounds a huge number of airplay, if streaming was counted back then she wouldn’t miss one song in the hot 100. And all of her songs would be certified

The 1.8 million figure was a bug as the latest reported Soundscan total (May 2018) had the album at 1.64 million. But yes, club sales were still a thing by 2004. I wouldn’t expect much, though.

In terms of what lists like this are based on?sales or charts peak?
Because that’s interesting to see sometimes surpassed million seller hits like iwitw and mambo no.5
Maybe that means sometimes is closer to platinum with sps

Mi Chico Latino is around 400,000 with streaming #15
Beautiful Stranger is above 560,000 with streaming #7

    so I think that Sometimes #11 is between 450,000 - 500,000

actually sales for Sometimes 2 years ago were 459,000 inc streaming, so it could be really close to 500,000 by now

    Platinum is still far away.

Actually back in 2016 it says sometimes sold 459,000 pure sales (not including streaming) and its doing pretty nice in YouTube and Spotify so I believe it should be higher.

Hope so beautiful stranger is probably 560,000 from pure sales as well since the video is not stream that well in YouTube (3.7 million views overall) on the other hand in the 2016 source toxic and womanizer were lower in sales than sometimes yet became platinum thanks to streaming, I know sometimes is not streaming monster like toxic but I believe it’s closer than we think

I really hope Sometimes is close to platinum! Is there a way to estimate how many streams come from the UK?
