30 (NE) Christina Stόrmer – Was wirklich bleibt S A

This week's highest new entry is Goodbye by the Swedish female duo RoxSo. This is quality summery bubblegum pop! Early in the week it looked like this song might even become #1, but in the end Dove's song keeps the top spot with comfortable margin. Killing All My Darlings by Swedish singer Maria Hazell makes a very strong climb from #27 to #5. In the lower half of the chart three artists make spectacular comebacks. Italian (?) singer Annalyse, Norwegian electro-pop band Briskeby and Austrian singer Christina Stόrmer have had a single song each on the chart before, in 2005, 2001 and 2005 respectively (Woodstock, Propaganda and Engel fliegen einsam). Comebacks from decade-long absence are rare and three of them the same week is probably unique.

    Dropouts:
    -- (15) Marνa Σlafsdσttir – Lνtil skref (12 weeks, peak #1 x6) S V
    -- (21) Krista Siegfrids – On & Off (11 weeks, peak #5) S V
    -- (22) Avril Lavigne – Fly (2 weeks, peak #19) V
    -- (23) Invader Girl – Stuck On Me (10 weeks, peak #2) S V
    -- (26) Erika Selin – Break Me Up (11 weeks, peak #4) S V
    -- (28) All Time Low – Runaways (1 week) S A
    -- (29) Megan & Liz – All The Way (10 weeks, peak #13) S A

It's rare, but not unheard of, that a song that spent 6 weeks at #1 falls off the chart after just 12 weeks. It's extremely likely that this song will re-enter the chart at some point, for example it's very common that last year's biggest songs invade the chart again early in the new year (and it could also happen much sooner).

Edit: Corrected a couple of minor mistakes on the chart.

Thanks for commenting! Yeah, those three are probably the most well-known songs on the chart, glad you like them!

I think I liked Biscuits from the first time I heard it, it just didn't stand out that much at first and I tended to forget about it a little. There is very tough competition currently, lots of songs I really like that are below #30 (I could extend the number of positions but have stuck with 30 for 15 years so that's not an easy decision...). I'm a bit surprised myself how much I've been listening to Little Toy Guns recently; if you had asked me a week ago I would not have guessed it would continue climbing as high as #6 (and it actually passed six other songs that were higher placed last week). On To Something Good got unlucky that I discovered a new song that I went a bit crazy about. It's about as strong now as it was last week at #2.

No, I'm from Sweden, which explains all the Swedish and Scandinavian songs on my chart (there are 5 songs by Swedish artists on the current chart and 5 more from Denmark and Norway). But I know all artists worth knowing regardless of where they're from ;).

I probably found it on some download site... Is she only popular in Austria? My sister recognized her when Engel fliegen einsam was playing randomly in my apartment around 2007-2008 (she had been staying several years in Switzerland, while I never left Sweden for 10+ years).

The past week is the highest volume (= total number of plays of songs eligible for the chart) week since October 2013! The amazing pop-rock track As Long As I Have You by American singer/actress Dove Cameron keeps the top spot for a sixth consecutive week. Only 16 songs have spent more consecutive weeks at #1. The beautiful ballad Wildfire by American singer/songwriter Natalie Taylor shoots up from #15 to #3. Highest of six new entries is Got Me Good by Swedish singer Isa (Tengblad) who recently competed in Melodifestivalen (Swedish ESC selection) with Don't Stop.

    -- (12) Phoebe Ryan – Dead (6 weeks, peak #5) S V

Yeah, I hope Kacey's and Ashley's albums will be two of the highlights of the summer, definitely gonna listen to them immediately when they are released.

Actually Little Toy Guns slipped one position this week, from 6 to 7. But I'm not ruling out that it may rise again next week because at least two of the higher placed songs seem to be running out of steam now while Carrie's song is still going strong.

I hope you like the song and album! I have not heard the album yet, it seems it's not available here yet (at least not in Spotify).

There are ten new entries on this week's chart. One of them enters in the top 10, Lilac Sky by Swedish singer Julia Vero. Someone said in a YouTube comment this sounds like a Sky Ferreira song (I think it's better). Still no change at #1; As Long As I Have You joins the exclusive club of now 17 songs that have spent seven or more consecutive weeks at #1. Seven of those stopped at exactly seven weeks while the others reached ten weeks or more, i.e. no song has ever stopped at eight or nine consecutive weeks at #1. Maybe that will happen this time?

    Bubblers:
These are songs that have not yet charted, are at most 30 positions behind the chart and are trending upwards, listed in alphabetical order.
    Amber – Warrior S V
    Bebe Rexha – I Don't Wanna Grow Up S A
Bebe Rexha – I'm Gonna Show You Crazy S V
    Dove Cameron – What A Girl Is S A

    Polina Gagarina – A Million Voices S V
The Common Linnets – We Don't Make The Wind Blow V

Oh all right. Well, i didn't know them, so that's probably why i didn't know these are scandinavian entries
OT but i was in Stockholm for a few days 3 years ago but i'll probably return this year and will return a few more times, i hope, because i loved what i saw!

She's from Austria, and she's really popular there. She also gets some success in Germany and Switzerland though, especially the song you mentioned (Ich lebe) was a big hit for hers a few years ago.

    ...

Great to see Carrie still in the Top10. Can't wait to hear what she releases next

So happy to see Mississippi here, even though it’s not in the top 30. Hopefully it’ll rise at some point.
Not really a fan of Two Of A Crime, didn’t like it on first listen. Hopefully it’ll grow on me.
Great to see Carrie rising & Ashley holding steady.

That's an interesting coincidence that you're telling me this now because I'm actually in Switzerland right now! I'm visiting my sister who lives in Luzern, and earlier today I was walking around in Zόrich. I lived in Stockholm for eight years (only a few months in the actual city though, mostly in the suburbs) but now I live in a smaller city and will move to an even smaller town (where I have bought a house) in a few months.

Thank you for commenting! Yeah, after Little Toy Guns becoming this big of a hit on my chart I'm now also really looking forward to her next release.

Not really a fan of Two Of A Crime, didn’t like it on first listen. Hopefully it’ll grow on me.
Great to see Carrie rising & Ashley holding steady.
Thank you for commenting! I was surprised myself that it didn't make the top 30 on the current chart; it was closest though among all the songs listed as bubblers and should make it on the next chart, even though that one will be rather uneventful since I'm listening much less than usual this week when I'm away.

I checked out "Wildfire" and it was pretty decent. The best songs on your chart for me are definitely "Can't Deny My Love" and "Lonely Town" though.

    2 (3) Natalie Taylor – Wildfire (3 weeks) S A
    6 (7) Carrie Underwood – Little Toy Guns (11 weeks) S V

Thanks for commenting, and for checking out one of my top songs! And also for quoting As Long As I Have You again; I'm really crazy in love with that song and it sometimes feels a bit weird when that happens for a song no one else seems to care about (that may be part of the reason why for so many years I didn't post my chart here).

The past week saw much lower volume than usual lately, not because I got bored with current music but due to the fact that I was away for the larger part of the week. Considering this, there is more movement on the chart than is usual when a low-volume week follows several high-volume weeks. No change at the top though; As Long As I Have You stays #1 for an 8th consecutive week. It's now the 10th longest-running #1 on my chart. The highest new entry at #8 is a song in Latvian and (perhaps surprisingly) this is the first time ever that a song on the chart is sung in that language! There is actually an English version of this song, called Run To You, but I prefer it in Latvian even though I don't understand it (in this case it simply sounds better and makes the song more unique).

    Bubblers:
These are songs that have not yet charted, are at most 30 positions behind the chart and are trending upwards, listed in alphabetical order.
    Alyssa Bernal – Wasted Love S V
    Breaking Benjamin – Failure S A
    Carina Dahl – (Come A Little) Closer S V
    Isa – Second Chance S
    Iselin Solheim – Giants S V
    Julian Moon – 2AM S A
    Maraaya – Here For You S V
    Nightwish – Ιlan S V
    Tina & Rene – Mi Amore S L

    Dropouts:
    -- (21) Moa Morfeldt – You And I (5 weeks, peak #7) S V
    -- (23) Sophie Elise – Love Like That (5 weeks, peak #14) S V
    -- (24) Julia Kedhammar – We Can Make It Right (1 week) S V
    -- (26) Isa – Numb (1 week) S
    -- (28) Briskeby – Rookie Mistakes (3 weeks, peak #18) S V

I hope you will enjoy living in a smaller town then

Unfortunately lots of unknown tracks on your charts for me, but i wanted to check out Bebe's song for a while so i'll do it this weekend!
It really makes me happy to see Nightwish on the bubblers list though. "Ιlan" wasn't what i expected from them, but i adore it so much now. Probably the best single from this year so far for me.
Maraaya's song is good, too. One of my faves from this years ESC

I'm pretty sure I will, don't really like living in cities with traffic noise and irritating neighbours. My own house in a small town should be perfect, once I get that fiber optic Internet installed. Will need to buy a car also.

Yeah, I'm aware many of the new songs I've listened a lot to recently are relatively unknown. This is often going to be the case, but expect to see some big hits also!

Yeah, the current chart is a good one for country songs (the cover by Kate Todd is also one of those). And Always Sing will shoot up like a rocket next week.

I don't know most of the songs in your list, but am glad to see the new entry of The Common Linnets! I will give your number 1 a listen.

Thanks for commenting! I really like We Don't Make The Wind Blow, it's in the same league as Calm After The Storm imo. I hope you like As Long As I Have You!

Today's new chart for week 23 will be delayed due to technical problems; hopefully I'll be able to post it later today but could take longer.

    19 (28) Bebe Rexha – I Don't Wanna Grow Up S A
    20 (17) Dove Cameron – Count Me In (18 weeks, peak #5) S V
    21 (19) Dove Cameron – True Love (3 weeks) S A
    22 (20) Brandon Flowers – Lonely Town (3 weeks) S V
    23 (10) Maria Hazell – Killing All My Darlings (6 weeks, peak #5) S V

30 (NE) Kate Todd – Lucky Boots S

New number one! I should have guessed that a bit of magic was what was needed to dethrone Dove Cameron's song! Or maybe not, as in the end it also got defeated by RaeLynn's Always Sing which climbs from number 29 last week all the way to the runner-up spot. That's the biggest ever climb up to #2 (two songs have done it from #27). In contrast, entering the chart at #1 is by far the most common way to become #1 on my chart, around 60 percent of all number ones have entered right at the top, including five of the six new number ones this year. I haven't had a proper girlgroup at #1 on my chart since Sugababes with About You Now in autumn 2007! And it's the first ever hit on my chart for Little Mix. I only liked one of their songs before (Always Be Together) and that one never reached the top 30.

    Bubblers:
These are songs that have not yet charted, are at most 30 positions behind the chart and are trending upwards, listed in alphabetical order.
    Bonnie McKee – Bombastic S V
    Foxes – Body Talk S V
    Julian Moon – 2AM S A
    Maraaya – Here For You S V
    Marina Kaye – Homeless V
Marina Kaye – Mirror Mirror A
Marina Kaye featuring Lindsey Stirling – Sounds Like Heaven V
    Nightwish – Ιlan S V
    Noelia Jay – Overrated S
    Tina & Rene – Mi Amore S L
Tori Kelly – Unbreakable Smile V

    Dropouts:
    -- (22) Stine Bramsen – Not What I Came For (8 weeks, peak #2) S
    -- (23) Dotter – Dive (4 weeks, peak #9) S V
    -- (27) Stine Bramsen – Karma Town (14 weeks, peak #2) S V

Really glad to see some love for Marina Kaye. Well, only on the bubblers list, but that's definitely better than nothing. And you actually have the three best tracks of the album there (IMO, of course)
