Thanks for commenting! I found out about Marina from your thread in Pure Pop and I've now listened to the album. It's very solid overall, probably in my top 10 of albums from 2015 so far despite no single song reaching the top 30 (yet).

    Great chart as always.

A truly exceptional week where Inescapable by Danish X-Factor winner Emilie Esther looked set to debut at #1 despite last week's new #1 still being rather strong, but where everything changed Friday evening when I listened to the new Hilary Duff album. From that point on I mostly listened to the title track Breathe In, Breathe Out on repeat, which was enough for that song to enter at #1 and in the process allowed Black Magic to stay ahead of Inescapable. Without seeing any numbers (I keep those hidden, even from myself, until the end of the year) I'm pretty confident that we have a score record at #3, and possibly at #2 also.

    Bubblers:
These are songs that have not yet charted, are at most 30 positions behind the chart and are trending upwards, listed in alphabetical order.
    Foxes – Body Talk S V
    Hilary Duff – My Kind S A
Marina Kaye – Dark Star L
    Marina Kaye – Homeless V

    Zendaya – Neverland S A

    Dropouts:
    -- (21) Dove Cameron – True Love (3 weeks, peak #19) S A

    -- (26) Julian Moon – How To Break A Heart (3 weeks, peak #25) S A
    -- (27) Iselin Solheim – Giants (1 week) S V
    -- (28) Christina Stόrmer – Was wirklich bleibt (5 weeks, peak #6) S A
    -- (29) Sammi Sanchez – Talk (3 weeks, peak #17) S V

Thanks for commenting! I didn't see this until I posted the new chart for week 24. Evelyn? Don't know if this is a mistake, some reference I don't get or If you make up your own nicknames for singers/actors . Anyway, after 8 weeks on top that song was no longer invincible although I still love it.

Unfortunately, all of the songs you quoted had a bit of a tough time on the new chart... Hopefully you'll find some new ones you like; did you listen to Lucky Boots for example? (Assuming you have Spotify, as that's an album track I can't find on YouTube.)

Thanks for commenting! Yeah, both albums are really good and should impact the chart even more next week. I didn't really give myself a chance to get into the other songs on Hilary's album yet because that one song just took over . But it will be a little more balanced this week, I think...

Love your #1! Definitely one of the better songs of Hilary's album, which is quite strong too!

Like i said on Biebz' topic, i have to check out Zella Day soon...
Oh and surprising entry for Annemarie Eilfeld. I know her from DSDS (german idol) from a few years ago

Oh wow, glad to hear that! Her album is really strong, her voice is good and the productions sound so international. Kinda sad to see she's flopping outside France (her home country)...

Thanks for commenting! Cool, I didn't know "anyone" knew about her (Annemarie); to me her album is a recent random find in Spotify when I searched through the list of newly added stuff. When I find a songs I like in other (interesting) languages (i.e. other than English and Swedish) that I like I think I tend to like them more just because they're "different". I listened to the entire album and it has more good songs but this ballad is my clear favourite so far.

Yeah, she definitely sounds like she should have global appeal. But the album doesn't even seem to be released in most places; I can't find it in Spotify and when I checked some other countries (US, UK, Germany) in iTunes I couldn't find it there either. I had to resort to some, ehum, "old-fashioned" methods to be able to listen to it properly.

Thanks for commenting! I'm glad you like those songs. Breathe In, Breathe Out is really awesome, it's the second song this year that I'd definitely rank in my top 10 for the 2010's so far!

I didn't know that it's not even out everywhere, so i'm very lucky that it's out here i think
So it's probably only released in the french-speaking countries like France, Belgium and Switzerland. Hope they plan a worldwide release, like they did with Indila and Stromae.

    ...

Amazing success for Hilary this week. Album grew on me even more in the second week now, such a great pop album.
Also love to see that Marina is finally able to get an entry

Cool, I like loads this week.
Great to see The Blade, really love the song, I’m so excited for Ashley’s album. Not too long now until it’s out.
Great to see Raelynn still high, I’m still loving Always Sing too. God Made Girls and For A Boy are pretty good too.
Black Magic is brilliant, my fav Little Mix song now, absolutely love it. Great to see it so high still.
Little Toy Guns is decreasing now but great that it peaked inside the top 5, so deserved.
Wow, On To Something Good increases this week I’m really glad you like the song as much as me.
Kacey’s has two song, great!! Biscuits is still great, it might get an increase next week with the albums release? Pageant Material, the song, is good. Not a fav yet but it’s still growing.
    Great chart overall, as usual.

Hilary Duff's album is defnitely the best album so far this year if I combine top and breadth! In a traditional low-competition week she could have easily taken over the entire top 10! Even Marina Kaye could have gotten hits on my chart with all or almost all of the album songs under different circumstances. I really like the album a lot more than it looks like from a single week at 30th position...

Country songs may well take over my entire chart one of these days... The great ones also tend to stay strong much longer than average. Little Toy Guns will most likely be the oldest song on the chart next week and may actually be able to turn around and rise again! Biscuits on the other hand is probably doomed now that I have all those new album songs to listen to.

29 (NE) Kacey Musgraves – Dime Store Cowgirl S
    30 (22) Bebe Rexha – I Don't Wanna Grow Up (5 weeks, peak #19) S A

Hilary Duff's Breathe In, Breathe Out gets a third week at #1 and Emilie Esther's Inescapable reaches #2 for the first time in its third week on the chart. One of the tracks from the new album by Carly Rae Jepsen (only released in Japan for now), Your Type immediately stood out when I listened to that album and enters the chart at #5. The other dramatic change in the top 10 is the surprising (?) turnaround for Little Toy Guns which had dropped to #13 last week but is now back just one spot below its peak! Highlights outside the top 10 include (allegedly) 13-year-old Swedish singer Nova Miller making a strong debut with her pop song Supernova, Selena Gomez returning with Good For Me (I strongly prefer the version without the rapper) and Kacey Musgraves getting three more songs from her new album on the chart.

    Bubblers:
These are songs that have not yet charted, are at most 30 positions behind the chart and are trending upwards, listed in alphabetical order.
    Ashley Monroe – Bombshell A
Ashley Monroe – I Buried Your Love Alive A
Hilary Duff – Arms Around A Memory S
Hilary Duff – Brave Heart S
    Hilary Duff – Confetti S
    Hilary Duff – Lies S
Hilary Duff – One In A Million S
Hilary Duff – Picture This S
Hilary Duff – Rebel Hearts S
    Hilary Duff – Tattoo S
Kacey Musgraves – Cup Of Tea S
Kacey Musgraves – Die Fun S
    Kacey Musgraves – Fine S
Kacey Musgraves – Good Ol' Boys Club S
Kacey Musgraves – Late To The Party S
    Kacey Musgraves – Miserable S

    Dropouts:
-- (21) Kate Todd featuring Jeff Healey – Hit Me With Your Best Shot (5 weeks, peak #11) S V
    -- (23) Natalie Taylor – Wildfire (7 weeks, peak #2) S A
    -- (24) Kacey Musgraves – Biscuits (7 weeks, peak #11) S V
    -- (25) Noelia Jay – Overrated (2 weeks, peak #25) S
    -- (26) Dove Cameron – Count Me In (20 weeks, peak #5) S V
    -- (27) Isa – Got Me Good (6 weeks, peak #5) S
    -- (29) Dove Cameron – Say Hey (10 weeks, peak #4) S A
    -- (30) Marina Kaye – Mirror Mirror (1 week) S

Dove Cameron's Count Me In falls off the chart after 20 (non-consecutive) weeks, leaving Little Toy Guns as the longest-running song on the chart with 16 weeks. The average number of weeks the songs in this week's top 30 have spent on the chart is now just 3.9 weeks, the lowest since week 12.

You just broke the record for quickest comment ever. Thanks! Yeah, I can almost guarantee Good For You will be higher next week since I only started listening to it a couple of days ago.

Thanks for commenting! It's just the title track that's #1 on my chart, not the album. But if I took the time to update all the stuff I need to compute my albums chart Hilary's album would probably be #1 there, maybe Kacey's could challenge it this week. I may actually do this later this week. I'm glad you also like the album!

Yay for "Your Type"! (weirdly I was listening to it while I was checking out your chart) It's one of my favourites from the album, so catchy!

Really hope Selena climbs next week, one of the best singles this year

Thanks for commenting and great that you also like Your Type!

Often when I listen to an album and find a song I like much more than the rest the others tend to be "forgotten" for a while. I will probably find more songs I like on the album, for example the title track. I Really Like You and All That already charted earlier, but didn't reach the upper half. I should have mentioned that Carly gets her biggest hit on my chart so far; Call Me Maybe peaked at #10 (and got no follow-ups from the last album).

When you start posting your weekly chart here I promise to comment every update within 48 hours (barring unusual circumstances) and usually much quicker! You seem to have great taste so your chart would be a welcome addition.

Wow glad to hear that about Hilary. Were you a fan in her earlier years too? Because last year was the first time i got interest in her musically, and "All About You" was the first track i really liked from her, so she's still new to me (and i love her now!).

Not surprised to see Hilary at #1 for another week with the title track of her album, and it's also good to see one of my faves ("My Kind") still in the Top10 as well
Carrie going up again, wow I should re-listen to "Little Toy Guns" again...

Great debut for Selena Gomez. I'm a big fan of hers, so i was really excited for "Good For You" and it didn't disappoint me. Great song!

I guess it depends on how you define "fan". I liked So Yesterday and bought her debut album because of it, and liked it but didn't love it (see the chart history I posted on June 15th). I bought her second album too because I liked her voice and thought she had potential (also, this was back when I bought a lot more CDs than I do today) but that wasn't really a big success either. And then Dignity flopped completely and I more or less forgot about her until last year. There are very few artists I consider myself a true fan of, and even those that were huge at some point (Hayley Westenra, Amy Diamond) have later disappointed me. Still, after 2014 Hilary Duff was my all-time 64th most played artist which isn't too shabby. She will most likely be in the top 30 after this year.

I'm not sure what happened; I semi-randomly watched the video again for the first time in a while and suddenly liked the song a lot more again. Also, this sometimes happens when I listen to my chart and find that a song has undeservedly underperformed. At this point nothing would surprise me when it comes to this song, it could end up at #1 in a few weeks or I could suddenly get bored with it and stop playing it completely.

I'm actually surprised I like this song because the style doesn't usually appeal to me. But I really like her voice in this and sometimes I will randomly like songs that are untypical for me. Selena has had nine songs on my chart before, but only three of them I really like (Outlaw, Slow Down and Love Will Remember). Selena was only my 237th most played artist after 2014 (including her "non-solo" stuff).
