Definitely! The comeback seems to work and it's not Sarah Connor that has to convince the public, they are interested on their own and once you've managed to reach that, the rest will follow either way!

The big response to her music isn't really surprising. Surprising was the big pre-orders the album received. So I definitely saw her number 1 position coming.

Whenever I checked Amazon or Itunes for new albums, her album was always inside the top10/20. In the last two weeks even inside the top 5 (And higher). She is doing damn good. Let alone this being her come back. It's like she is one of the most successful artists here in Germany, even though her last efforts didn't do well. The album is currently at number 1 on Amazon and Itunes. It even stayed at number 1, even though the ESC album was right behind it (After all the hype etc.). So with tommorow a full week at number 1. Great!

Tauschkonzert definitely brought her back to the public. And also her change to German music was well received it seems.

It's not really my type of music, but I'm glad for her.

yass Sarah. I bought Muttersprache bc Sarah is a damn fine singer and the music is solid.

she is the only german pop gal with a lasting career and some impact within germany.

This is absolutely a brilliant news.
She was stuck with a string of flops for a long period of time, but thankfully she conquered it really well. I hope now she is motivated enough to come up with an English album afterwards.

    Germany
    2001 - 3xG - Green Eyed Soul - 450,000 - #2
    2002 - 1xG - Unbelievable - 150,000 - #10
    2003 - 1xP - Key To My Soul - 200,000 - #8
    2005 - 1xP - Naughty But Nice - 200,000 - #1
    2005 - 1xP - Christmas In My Heart - 200,000 - #6
    2007 - U/C - Soulicious - est 85,000 - #6
    2008 - U/C - Sexy as Hell - est 100,000 - #3
    2010 - U/C - Real Love - est 30,000 - #8
    2015 - U/C - Muttersprache - est 30,000 - #1

    =1,445,000 albums

She could have sold a bit more though.. I would say that her albums are under-certified, especially her debut album.. maybe 1,6m is truer to her German albums sales total. She's also amassed 13 German Top 10 singles (6 #1's among them).

Real love really flopped hard :/

But this is such a great comeback, both single and album at #1

I'm not interested in this project because it's in german but i hope she releases new english album in Q4, maybe english version of it

    What restored her popularity there?

100k sounds too high for Sexy as Hell, I rather think ~ 60k.

Not sure whether het records are that undercertified in Germany. For example, none of her albums actually charted for a year or longer, she's not really known for notable longevity. Naughty But Nice might be eligible for 3x gold, but I'm not entirely sure. 1.6 mio. could still be true because her records might've sold more than just what it takes to reach gold but not enough for platinum (= stuck inbetween) for example.

She participated in the show Sing meinen Song and that one helped most of the involved acts' careers. But for most, people simply missed her due to the long break and in spite of that, their anticipation continously grew resulting in those chart results by the time she eventually came back.

it's all in the catalogue, honey + she was a judge on x-factor for 3 seasons. like everyone, she is under-certified especially since her first albums were released during the alltime high of music sales.

Really? WOW, I thought that stevyy's first prediction (~ 30k) sounded realistic, but know it might be something like 70k.

The album should still slip to No. 2 next week since Santiano are going to debut with their new record and their first two records performed very well (album No. 1 was shipped 1 mio. times, album No. 2 750k times). Not sure whether Sarah Connor will be able to get a 2nd week at No. 1 in the end (especially since Santiano's albums are known to have legs, not to forget that other major releases are going to happen and of course many rap albums that might have high (frontloaded) openings), but that's already a great way to start an era .

The albums at No. 1 and 2 in Austria reached platinum in week 1, so No. 3 is totally fine for Sarah Connor. Didn't expect No. 1 to happen in Switzerland though - great!

What caused the fact that "NAUGHTY BUT NICE" climbed from #56 back to the Top10 in the time frame of exactly 9 weeks? Was there a single at that time? I thought the album only produced Living To Love You and From zero To Hero?
The week of July 4th was when the album was sitting at it's then-lowest position of #56
In the week of Sept 9th, the album, however sneaked back in the Top10 at #10.
It rose nice and steadily... I just don't see why it would climb that much over 3 months

    ? Girls' Generation ?
    ? HyoYeon ? Britney Spears ?

Girls' Generation is the best-selling girl group of all time.

Muttersprache fell one spot from #1 to #2 on the German Albums Chart.

Do you guys think it will reach Platinum or even more in the end?
