    I like it
I am not trying to seduce you... Would you like me to seduce you? Is that what you're trying to tell me?

This is what happened to the band!
Why did the band end? "After years of trying to get attention and then spending three years in a huge public spotlight, it felt liberating to walk away from it after all. I adore the craft of writing songs and expressing myself but the business side is filled with so many liars that I had to run away and leave them far behind to preserve my sanity," Kier explained to Yahoo! Music.

After the group imploded, she moved to London, learning to engineer and produce. "I started DJing on the side and am still doing all those things. I have recently decided to bestow some music on unsuspecting audiences by singing several unannounced and low-profile gigs worldwide trying out my new material while developing a show," she says, having now returned to New York.

However, Kier, who was ordered to pay Sega over $600,000 after unsuccessfully launching a lawsuit against them in 2003 for alleged similarities between her and a character in their ‘Space Channel 5' video game, insists the chances of a full Deee-Lite comeback are "absolutely none".

Although she and Dmitry still speak from time to time, she says they have no contact with Towa, who they fell out with acrimoniously during the last days of the group. "The band was destroyed by the same forces that created it - the quest for love, respect, truth and happiness," she explains, reflecting on their brief but brilliant moment on the pop frontline.

^ Thanks for that Graham, interesting. It is a shame as they were really pretty good!

A stone cold classic, the video is one of my earliest musical memories.

Lady Miss Kier is fabulous. Her dancing in the music video is epic. World Clique is a great album. Good Beat deserved to do better.

Straight guys seem to like this song a lot even though it’s just as ghey as any other pop song I’ve heard.

Superb! Honestly, all three of their albums are good. They connect the dots between funk, house, hip-hop, and pop-soul like nobody's business
The sands of time fade into dark
Feel your pulse it's groove o'clock
    A message to madness
    Feel music that's realness

If you're a fan of 90's dance music, by all means dive in! Can't recommend them enough; here's brief rundown

World Clique (1990)---Sets a template for their sound, a sample-driven melange of house and hip-hop beats, funk basslines, and pop hooks, topped by Lady Miss Kier's rich soulful vocals. Piano-led "Good Beat" may be even more of a manifesto for Deee-Lite than even "Groove" was, "Smile On" is some proto-trip-hop business. There's even an Afro-futurist soundscape that closes the album. Bootsy Collins, Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley play on 4 tracks, these hold up the best. One of the finest dance albums of the 90s, or any decade if you ask me.

Infinity Within (1992)---Underrated even by some fans, this was a successful refinement of their sound. Not only do Collins, Parker and Wesley return, half of the Funk Mob appear here as do Speech from Arrested Development and Michael Franti. What the album lacks in a track as killer and immediate as "Groove," it makes up for by adding reggae, creamy mid-tempos and even a sultry ambient quiet-storm ballad (closing track "Love is Everything", Kier's best vocal performance ever) into the mix. The band made too big a deal of the album's "message" songs at the time; there's only 4 of them, one of which is more of an interlude. The rest are love songs and good ones at that; it's the most polished of their output.

Dewdrops in the Garden (1994)---Things get faster, harder, bass-ier and all around rave-ier. There is some sensual, jazzy mid-tempo hip-hop, on which Kier coos about playful intimacies, like sipping apple juice to assist a cotton-mouthed make out session ("Apple Juice Kissing"). Elsewhere, though, the group adds deep house, techno, ambient, early jungle and prog-style touches. Peep the way "Bring Me Your Love" cruises like an express subway train, slows down to simmering funk, then speeds right back up again. It was harder for me to get into at first, as some songs barely feature Keir at all, opting instead for spliced-up samples of her voice ("Party Happening People"). But it's a choice that ultimately makes sense, since these are texture pieces more so than the accessible pop songs of their past. As such, a splendid summer album.
