20. TALKING TO GHOSTS

Why does it hurt when my heart misses the beat?

The beat in this song is epic! It acts as a great opener to Glorious, and I love the opening background noises that almost represent ghosts. I also love how the song builds, and by the end the 'highers' she sings and the 'are you really gone?' lyric are layered over each other which is cool. My only problem is the lyrics: wtf is she on about?

19. ON MY WAY

Can't keep running back to you again...

I'm a bit weird with ballads, I either am sobbing like 'oml this is so sad ' or I'm like 'sis, this is too cheesy for me to feel any sadness 4 u'. This song is the exception. My heart breaks for her on this track, but I just can't quite get over its clichéd ballad-feel. Foxes doesn't have too many ballads, and this shows in the countdown by the fact that this is the first of just 4 ballads in this countdown!

she released all the good tracks herself months ago as singles or buzz tracks by the time the album was released, she'd released 10 songs out of 16 (and two of the remaining tracks are an intro and Outro) so I feel it's justified

18. HOLDING ONTO HEAVEN

I hate what you've done, what you've made me become...

This made a good single! It's got a really catchy chorus which is one thing that lacks from a lot of the songs on Glorious. Also, in comparison to the rest of the album, it's lyrics aren't too bad either. The only problem is I just can't help feeling this song is a lesser Let Go for Tonight.

17. WHITE COATS

But you just stand there and watch them hold me down...

I love the start to this song, it's really interesting and I like how the song doesn't have a clear direction until the chorus. I also love the ending, its climax is great! It won't win any awards though, and I have to be in the right mood for it or else it's a bit boring.

16. CRUEL

It's hard to love someone who can't be loved...

I've noticed quite quickly that this song seems to be a highlight for a lot of people on All I Need. I can see the appeal. It's catchy, memorable and has great lyrics. I don't know why, but I can't quite connect with this song (and this may be due to me hearing it for the first time in a live stream where Foxes played it for the first time from the speakers of her tinny phone )I think it just doesn't go anywhere and is a tiny bit too long and repetitive. Anyway, this song screams smash hit, and I hope it is her next single!

15. RISE UP (REPRISE)

Rise up right now, I know you can...

This is probably a really weird song to have in the countdown, but I just love it! It makes a great closing track to All I Need and having a reprise of the album's intro brings it full circle and for me is just very satisfying. The little girl at the beginning is her niece Honor which I find v cute and I love the violins too! It is a bit too short though :-?

14. WARRIOR

If you can make it then the sun will rise...

Possibly the best and most intriguing start to a Foxes song is let down by an ok-to-good song that follows. The production is really nice and I love the verses, but the chorus is a bit forgettable. This is the only song she's released that doesn't feature on one of her albums #funfact

13. BEAUTY QUEEN

By the lake she dumped her dreams, now they've sunk to the bottom...

Its at this stage in the countdown the quality really goes up, as for me the difference between Beauty Queen and Warrior is HUGE. This track is almost flawless, just it goes on too long and gets a bit boring. But the lyrics are great and the guitaring is nice. I love the song's meaning and it's made even more sad by the fact she wrote this song when she was 16 and getting teased for her looks
