This was definitely a passion project for Fergie, she wouldn't have went all out with the music videos otherwise. However difficulty getting the album released and obstacles in her personal life must have made it a difficult time for her.
New leaks! Men All Pause was robbed of a good spot on the album
Taking time is one thing but this whole delay was a career-killer for sure. Labels will definitely expect a return on investment with such a bold project and since Fergie took so long, it was bound to flop. As much as Beyoncé can afford it now with her brand and all, she (who popularized full album videographies) will never risk taking that long of a break.
Kudos to Fergie for at least having the courage to do it! I felt sorry for her when that interview told her that she was opening at#1, and she cried in happiness. That was such a cruel thing to do!
I've got so much love
Got so much patience
I've learned from the pain
I turned out amazing

^This album would have slayed HARD in 2008. The urban era died on the charts from around 2010. I appreciate the fact that she could have sacrificed her sound for a 2017 image but remained true to her roots.

This entire project proved that she’s a true artist
