So it would have sold 48 copies without the vinyl release... interesting to know these things.

Light Years was big at the time of release, following from her first number one single gawd since errmm 89/90? I recall that time, people were surprised but those hot pants were a big thing.

Those are very interest indeed. Wish we could know weekly sales, especially now with streaming being added to sales. E.g: How much Fever must sell weekly considering it has some of the most popular Kylie songs?!

Interestingly Florence and the Machine's Lungs at #31 has 2,547 units. Light Years therefore will have fallen short of the 2,500 copies that were reportedly initially pressed. Perhaps this supposed figure was slightly wrong, or not all of the copies sold out as was reported? :-?

It's quite safe to say all copies were shipped which in label terms means sold. It's quite possible that some copies haven't been actually sold - most probably brick and mortar stores that people have to walk in and ask and maybe some of those don't have online stores to check so those copies are slightly under radar. But they will be sold, no worries.

So ALL copies were exclusive to Sainsbury's and none were available online, I still see the odd report of one here or there in various local Sainsbury's around the country, so there are like 100 or so out there somewhere lol unless they have now all sold today/Friday of course...

Yes none were available online. I suppose they wanted it captured only within the UK. (Potential for profits and the charting purpose).

I think if she had released 5,000 of them, she easily would have obtained 3.5/4K sales in the first week.

Hopefully somewhere on the internet, or one day, all (Singles and Albums) around the world
in most countries would have an archive for artists, because it would be great to know if
Kylie has had any No.1's or Top.10's in the 1980's in:

Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Venzuela, Taiwan, Philippines.

was hopeing 'The Loco-Motion' was at least No.1 in a few of the above.

as a fan ive been searching for 21 years lol

    UK

    67 (RE) Kylie Minogue

Thanks to the limited edition white vinyl release exclusive to Sainsburys. #4 in the vinyl chart. I was hoping I'd possibly be able to report the total sales of the album as I regularly receive the end of week sales tally, however it's listed as a new entry on the OCC website as opposed to a re-entry, so I don't know how likely that is. :( Probably something to do with the label the item has been reissued on.

Don't think anyone has mentioned that Can't Get You Out Of My Head has been streamed over 100 million times on Spotify. This is her first song to reach this milestone!

    Current streams: 101,612,055

"Body Language was rather unfortunate to be released in a competitive week, but truthfully it should have been able to hold its own considering it was coming off the back of Fever.

X would have easily been #2 the week before as the actual #2 (Westlife) sold 54k. They only narrowly beat her to #3 on its actual release week, leading by 1.3k.

I remember it being frustrating that George Michael released the same week as Kylie in 2014, but it seems Kiss Me Once was very lucky to even make the Top 3!".
