    10. PJ Harvey - Dress
    9. Stone Temple Pilots - Plush

Maybe because I fell in love with them later, but this year PJ ranks 10th and Stone 9th

    8. Enya - Caribbean Blue
An Alt-Pop sound in the middle of the amazing Alt Rock wave that was gracing the world.

    7. Guns N' Roses - November Rain
    6. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge
    5. Nirvana - Come as You Are

These three are big classics and enormous tracks. Nirvana gor Silver medals previous year, Red Hot & guns were also nominated in 91, so they didn't have big hopes this year.

    4. Morrissey - We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful
Almost medal. Amazing track but the other three are just impossible not to award

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Tori Amos - Crucify
Tori delivered a fantastic album and this track is quite complete, with cool piano and lyrics. I always find her more of an album artist than a single record one.

    2. SILVER MEDAL: The Cure - Friday I'm in Love
    A cool and fun track.

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Pearl Jam - Jeremy
Even when they were nominated in 91, the 1991 Best New Artist delivered this amazing song as a single in 92 and I can't help but recognize this one. Excellent.

    6. PJ Harvey - Dry
A very good debut album from an artist that will definetly compete in the upcoming years.

    5. Stone Temple Pilots - Core
Dead & Bloated, Wicked Garden, No Memory, Creep and Plush. Strong debut album.

    4. Enya - Shepherd Moons
Some Enya is addcitive to me. Shepher Moons, Caribbean Blue, How Can I Keep From Singing?, Angeles, Book Of Days, Lothlorien, As Baile, Oriel Window.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Morrissey - Your Arsenal
Amazing collection, Glamorous Glue, We'll Let You Know, The National Front Disco, Certain People I Know, We Hate It... and Seasick.

    2. SILVER MEDAL: The Cure - Wish
Before GaGa, The Cure already existed! Amazing album with High, From The Edge..., Friday I'm In Love, Trust and A Letter To Elise

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes
By far the best album. Crucify, Girl, Silent, Precious Things, Happy Phantom, Tear In Your Hand (<3<3<3) and Little Earthquake. Just Amazing, all good but these are the ones I want to highlight.

Two popular acts releasing good but safe music.

    8. Travis Tritt - Lord Have Mercy on the Working Man
    7. Confederate Railroad - Jesus And Mama

Third year in a row with Travis nominated but ranked low. His song and Confederate's one are great but kind of aged.

    6. Martina McBride - The Time Has Come
Martina will probalby be nominated in a future. This song is a great start.

    5. Sawyer Brown - All These Years
I relisten to this and fall in love even more. Should have been higher!

    4. Alabama - I'm in a Hurry (And Don't Know Why)
    Roadtrip 100%. Amazing!

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Vince Gill - Tryin' to Get Over You
    Too sweet but so good.

Big Mary fan, ad this song is catchy, a great track to listen to.

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Trisha Yearwood feat. Don Henley - Walkaway Joe
Trisha had this almost from the start. Matthew MacCounaghey at the video was a surprise. I really like this kinda country, smooth.

a rpmosing start with Time has Come, True Blue Fool and Cheap Whiskey as highlights.

    5. George Strait - Pure Country (Soundtrack)
Great first three tracks: Heartland, Baby Your Baby and I Cross My heart.

    Keep it up!

    10. Yo-Yo feat. Ice Cube - You Can't Play with My Yo-Yo
    9. Kriss Kross - Jump
    8. Too $hort - I Want to Be Free (That's the Truth)
    7. Public Enemy - Can't Truss It
    6. Redman - Blow Your Mind

A bunch of good tracks but dated a lot.

    5. Ice Cube - True to the Game
    4. Beastie Boys - Pass the Mic

Ice Cube always deliver, but after two gold medals in 1990 this was not as impressive. Beastie Boys will probalby reach higher in upcoming years.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: 2Pac - Brenda's Got a Baby
    2. SILVER MEDAL: Arrested Development - Mr Wendal

Two very good songs but my gold medal was a clear fav from the start

    1. GOLD MEDAL: House of Pain - Jump Around
    A classic sound. Amazing.

    6. Public Enemy - Apocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black
Nighttrain, Can't Truss It, By The Time I Get To Arizona

    5. Redman - Whut? Thee Album
Debut album, promising. Time 4 Sumaksion, Da Funk, Blow Your Mind

    4. House of Pain - House of Pain
Although they have the best song, the album is good but not as strong as others.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: 2Pac - 2Pacalypse Now
Trapped, Soulja's Story, I Don't Give a F**k, Words of Wisdom and Brenda

    2. Ice Cube - Death Certificate
Only One Me and a whole album that flows and is packed with anger.

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Beastie Boys - Check Your Head
Jimmy James, Funky Boss, Pass The Mic, Lighten Up, Finger Lickin0 Good, So What'cha Want, Pow, The Maestro, Groove Holmes, Live at PJs

    10. Keith Sweat - Keep It Comin
    9. Jody Watley - I'm the One You Need

Two nice tracks but cannot compete with the others.

    8. TLC - Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg
    7. Shanice - I Love Your Smile
    6. Chaka Khan - Love You All My Lifetime

These are a step ahead of Keith and Jody but also a gap exists with the top5.

    5. Seal - Killer
    4. En Vogue - My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)

Seal got a silver medal last year for Crazy but in the Pop category. En Vogue got 1 Gold and 2 Silver in 1990. Somehow that influenced my decision, as both songs are really good.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Bobby Brown - Humpin' Around
The top 3 was really hard for me. I think the three songs would be great Gold medalist. Bobby delivered a great track here.

    2. SILVER MEDAL: Mary J. Blige - Real Love
Amazing start for MJB, but somehow BIIM had a classic.

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Boyz II Men - End of the Road
I think this song kind of aged but at the same time it is a classic and very representative of the R&B I liked from those years.

    6. Shanice - Inner Child
Love Your Smile and I'm Crying are great. The rest is ok.

    5. TLC - Ooooooohhh.... On the TLC Tip
Ain't 2 Proud, Hat 2 Da Back, His Story, Bad By Myself, Baby-Baby-Baby. A good first album.

    4. Bobby Brown - Bobby
Good album, he had potential I think but lost it later.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Chaka Khan - The Woman I Am
Everything Changes, Telephone, Keep Givin' Me Lovin', Facts Of Love, Love You All My Lifetime, I Want, This Time, The Woman I Am, Love With No Strings, Don't Look At Me That Way. Strong album.

    2. SILVER MEDAL: Mary J. Blige - What's the 411?
Very good debut album. Reminisce, Real Love, Sweet Thing, Love No Limit, I Don't Want To Do Anything (feat. K-Ci Hailey).

    1. GOLD MEDAL: En Vogue - Funky Divas
The divas ruled! After 1990's Best R&B Recording award and silver medal for Best R&B Album and Best New Artist, they get their second Gold medal, and first as Best R&B Album with this effort. My Lovin', Hip Hop Lover, Free Your Mind, Giving Him Something He Can Feel, Give It Up Turn It Loose and Hooked On Your Love.

I like all of the following songs:

    DANCE
    7. Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy
    6. 2 Unlimited - Get Ready for This
    5. Rozalla - Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)
    3. BRONZE MEDAL: CeCe Peniston - Finally
    2. SILVER MEDAL: Snap! - Rhythm Is A Dancer
    1. GOLD MEDAL: Erasure - Love To Hate You

'I'm Too Sexy' is fun, 'Finally' iconic, 'Rhythm Is a Dancer' one of the my favourite dance songs of all time.
What a nice surprise to see Erasure's 'Love To Hate You' at number one, it's so underrated, it should have been a bigger hit at the time. I absolutely love it, it's my favourite Erasure song.

    ALTERNATIVE
    7. Guns N' Roses - November Rain
    6. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge
    5. Nirvana - Come as You Are
    2. SILVER MEDAL: The Cure - Friday I'm in Love
    1. GOLD MEDAL: Pearl Jam - Jeremy

'November Rain' is epic. When it comes to Nirvana I prefer 'Come As You Are' to 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'.

    COUNTRY
    9. Billy Ray Cyrus - Achy Breaky Heart

    RAP
    9. Kriss Kross - Jump
    2. SILVER MEDAL: Arrested Development - Mr Wendal
    1. GOLD MEDAL: House of Pain - Jump Around

'Jump' is my favourite one in this category.

    R&B
    7. Shanice - I Love Your Smile
    5. Seal - Killer
    4. En Vogue - My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)
    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Bobby Brown - Humpin' Around
    1. GOLD MEDAL: Boyz II Men - End of the Road

'End of the Road' is fantastic except for the tacky spoken part.

Glad you like Erasure as a winner, I too think that is underrated, but clearly a number 1.

Thank you for sharing your favs!

    10. Cowboy Junkies feat. John Prine - If You Were the Woman and I Was the Man
This could have been nominated in the country category. John Prine is so good here. The song is cool.

    9. Barenaked Ladies - If I Had $1,000,000
    Another country-rock type of song.

    8. INXS - Baby Don't Cry
After many medals in 1990, including a Bronze Medal for Album of the Year with X, this one falls a little but still gets praise.

    7. Genesis - I Can't Dance
I feel bad for putting them this low, but this was a fantastic year for rock! I remember this one considered to be Genesis comeback when I was a kid.

    6. Suzanne Vega - Blood Makes Noise
In such a great year, this is a very good placing for Suzanne. Maybe this could have been 7 and Genesis 6, but that's not a big change.

    5. Bruce Springsteen - Human Touch
I find this more AC Springsteen very cool and great listening.

    4. Brian May - Too Much Love Will Kill You
I find this song beautiful. I'd like a Mariah cover of this, or a Celine one, I don't know why but this song can be amazing with their voices.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Queen - The Show Must Go On
Following Freddie's death, this could have been a well deserved Gold Medal. Really powerful song.

    2. SILVER MEDAL: U2 - One
It was SO HARD to pick the gold medal here, One is definetly one of my fav songs of all time. Its addictive even after all these years.

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven
But Eric comes and creates this masterpiece. So raw and emotional but yet so well produced. Emotional, more when you know about his kid, and more when you have a kid on your own.

    6. INXS - Welcome to Wherever You Are
Good effort but hard to follow up a great album like X. Highlights: Taste It, Not Enough Time, Baby Don't Cry, Beautiful Girl, Wishing Well.

    5. Genesis - We Can't Dance
No Son Of Mine, Jesus He Knows Me, I Can't Dance, Never A Time, Hold On My Heart

    4. Bruce Springsteen - Human Touch
Human Touch, Soul Driver, 57 Channels, Cross My Heart, With Every Wish, Roll Of The Dice, Real World, Man's Job, I Wish I Were Blind, Pony Boy

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Suzanne Vega - 99.9F°
Rock In This Pocket, Blood Makes Noise, In Liverpool, 99.9F, Fat Man And Dancing Girl, When Heroes Go Down, As Girls Go, Song of Sand

    2. SILVER MEDAL: Eric Clapton - Rush
Great album, with Kristen And Jim, Preludin Fugue, Help Me Up, Tears in Heaven.

    1. GOLD MEDAL: U2 - Achtung Baby
One of the best albums of the decade. All great songs. ALL. Impossible to list them, or to leave one out. A perfect album from start to finish. Zoo Station is such a perfect first song and Love Is blindness is outstanding as an album closer. Standing Ovation.

    10. Prince & The New Power Generation - Cream
    9. Peter Gabriel - Steam

Two classics, but two artists I never fully embrace. Still undenialbe talented and great music.

    8. Celine Dion - If You Asked Me To
    7. Elton John - The One

Very good songs, nice lyrics and power performances.

    6. Mariah Carey feat. Trey Lorenz - I'll Be There
The MTV Unplugged is amazing, and IBT was a perfect choice. My stan mode is still calm and therefore a number 6 is a good and fitting place for this great record.

    5. Bette Midler - In My Life
Touching. Love the melody. And great movie.

    4. k.d. lang - Constant Craving
Her voice is so different. But the next three songs are fav of mine so this ranked 4.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Roxette - How Do You Do!
One of Roxette's last amazing songs. I was obsessed with this album and song.

    2. SILVER MEDAL: Michael Jackson - Black or White
We were not even MJ fans but we stopped everything at home and gathered around the TV when the most popular TV programme of the era premiered the B&W video. The song is really good, so it is not only about the video!

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Annie Lennox - Why
It was a close call, but eventually I think Annie delivered the better song. So passionate. A beautiful and sad song about divorce.

    6. Peter Gabriel - Us
    5. Elton John - The One

Two very solid albums but not exactly what I love. Still good and with some classics,

    4. Michael Jackson - Dangerous
Too big but eventually lacked power in my life. Jam, Remember the Time, Heal the World, B&W, Give in to Me, Will You Be There. I think WYBT is MJ top 3.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: k.d. lang - Ingénue
    A beautiful collection. Flows.

    2. SILVER MEDAL: Roxette - Tourism
Such a good collection of songs! HDYD, Fingertips, Heart Shaped Sea, Rain, Keep Me Waiting, Cinnamon Street, Never is a Long Time (<3<3<3), Silver Blue, Here Comes The Weekend, So Far Away, Come Back Before You Leave, Queen of Rain... Perfect. I miss them.

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Annie Lennox - Diva
Emotional and fun and colourful and sad and all togehter for a fantastic solo debu for Annie! Why, Walking on Broken Glass, Precious, Legend in my Living Room, Cold, Money Can't Buy It, Little Bird, Stay By Me.

    10. Redman
    9. Take That
    8. The Prodigy
    7. Barenaked Ladies
    6. Stone Temple Pilots
    5. TLC
    4. House of Pain

I tried to rank them putting myself in 1993 and imagining their potential and impact on me. But seeing some of these names made me realize the 90s were amazing!

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: 2Pac
    2. SILVER MEDAL: Mary J. Blige

Two outstanding artists that still have an impact today for me.

    1. GOLD MEDAL: PJ Harvey
PJ was interesting from the start.

    8. Boyz II Men - End of the Road
With such a list of songs, this one had little chances...

    7. Fito Paez - El amor después del amor
I really like Fito but in general I have always been more of an anglo music lover.

    6. Erasure - Love To Hate You
Fun and Erasure at their best. But the other songs were just better

    5. Trisha Yearwood feat. Don Henley - Walkaway Joe
Calm and soft country, hte type I like the most from the 90s

    4. House of Pain - Jump Around
Again HoP end up at number 4, just as in the New Artist category.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Pearl Jam - Jeremy
This was Gold Medal at one point while preparing this. Ended up bronze.

    2. SILVER MEDAL: Annie Lennox - Why
It was really hard to rank them! Why is very touching, I find it outstanding,

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven
But Eric delivered a heartfelt track that I will always love.

    8. Alison Krauss - Every Time You Say Goodbye
    7. Erasure - Chorus
    6. En Vogue - Funky Divas
    5. Beastie Boys - Check Your Head

All good albums, the best in their genres, but the top4 really shine.

    4. Luis Miguel - Romance
Luismi unfortunately competed with three monsters. I think this could have been higher but then I don't think any of the other three deserved to leave without a medal.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes
Tori delivered a fantastic album, but I prefer upcoming releases from her and think a bronze medal was a good start for he.

    2. SILVER MEDAL: Annie Lennox - Diva
Annie ended up with two silver medals, but again, U2 deserved the gold

    1. GOLD MEDAL: U2 - Achtung Baby
A classic, fantastic from start to finish. DEfinetly the Album of the Year.

    10. LANY - ILYSB
This debut single from LANY's first album is cool and relaxed. It belonged to a previous EP, Make Out, released in december 2015.

    9. Anohni - Paradise
Anohni is always twisted and complex, but that is a compliment here.

    8. Depeche Mode - Where’s The Revolution
A distinctive style and sound that always proove to be effective with me.

    7. Phantogram - Same Old Blues
The American duo released a couple of tracks that clicked with me, this being one of them. Her voice is captivating and the song is not so easily structured which I enjoy.

    6. Gorillaz feat. Popcaan - Saturnz Barz
At one point I was almost certain I would give a medal to them. But still this placing is no underperforming at all. I love this mixed urban electronic sound.

    5. Client Liaison - Off White Limousine
The guitar and climax around the song is nice.

    4. Nine Inch Nails - Less Than
Definetly the hardest decision: which song is leaving without a medal but still is amazingly good. The video add a lot of points too.

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Saint Etienne - Magpie Eyes
Smooth and soft, her voice is magnetic, kind of a Goldfrapp song.

    2. SILVER MEDAL: Jamiroquai - Automaton
Hypnotic sound! Almost Gold. Their best in a long time.

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Goldfrapp - Anymore
The synth-pop style fits her voice delivering a song that makes you dance. Amazing.

    6. Depeche Mode - Spirit
The album opens strongly with Going Backwards and Where's The Revolution. Scum is also great but then the album gets a little too repetitive and dense.

    5. Phantogram - Three
A complex and captivating album. Phantogram became one of last year's best discoveries with outstanding songs such as Funeral Fyre, Same Old Blues, You Don't Get Me High Anymore, Cruel World, Answer and Destroyer.

    4. Saint Etienne - Home Counties
A safer album comparing to some of the others. Cute and simple melodies mixed with a beautiful voice. Highlights: Something New, Magpie Eyes, Dive, Take It All In, Underneath the Apple Tree, Out of My Mind, After Hebden and Unopened Fan Mail

    3. BRONZE MEDAL: Gorillaz - Humanz
Some original features mixed with with the creativity Gorillaz has us accostumed to results in this outstanding album. A smooth Urban electronic sound. Highlights: Ascension (feat. Vince Staples), Strobelite (feat. Peven Everett), Saturnz Barz (feat. Popcaan), Andromeda (feat. DRAM), Carnival (feat. Anthony Hamilton), Let Me Out (feat. Mavis Staples & Pusha T)She's My Collar (feat. Kali Uchis), The Apprentice (feat. Rag'n'Bone, Zebra Katz and RAY BLK), Out of Body (feat. Kilo Kish, Zebra Katz and Imani Voshna) and Ticker Tape (feat. Carly Simon and Kali Uchis).

    2. SILVER MEDAL: Goldfrapp - Silver Eye
Anymore is a perfect album opener, setting the mood and a high bar for the rest of the songs. Systemagic takes you one step further proving Goldfrapp are not kidding. Beast That Never Was, Everything is Never Enough, Moon in Your Mouth and Ocean close the album in a much relaxing way, captivating.

    1. GOLD MEDAL: Jamiroquai - Automaton
Shake It On and then Automaton defines one of Jamiroquai best albums. Some great cool songs such as Cloud 9, Superfresh, Something About You, Nights Out In The Jungle, Dr Buzz and We Can Do It complete an efortless great album.

I'd personally put Saint Etienne above Gorillaz, the latter had a relatively disappointing album not up to their own standards.
