Off to an (unsurprisingly) strong start, marat!

    • Although it's no "Shine" or "King", I definitely do like "Desire" (both with and without Tove.) Shame that neither version became a proper official chart smash for them, though.
    • "Sorry" is one of the absolute highlights of 2016 for me and easily the standout on Lemonade. Like I was just saying about "Desire", it's hard to believe that this didn't make a bigger impact on official charts. I know B doesn't take the traditional route when it comes to releasing and promoting her singles, but there's no reason that pop radio shouldn't have spun this to death.
    • It was great to see 5H finally score an international smash with "Work From Home" - definitely a shame that they have to deal with lineup-change-drama so soon after such a breakthrough!
    • Is the omission of the SeeB Remix on "I Took A Pill..." on purpose? Do you much prefer the original, or both pretty much equally? Although I really fell in love with the SeeB Remix, I don't think I've ever checked it out in its original acoustic-y form.

I count both, but defintely I prefer SeeB Remix version, it's more interesting to listen.

    • "My Way" is alright, and while there's definitely something sexy about Calvin's voice, I've generally preferred the tracks where he hands off the vocals to someone else ("We'll Be Coming Back", "I Need Your Love", "Sweet Nothing", "Outside", "This Is What You Came For", etc.)
    • "NO" came as a big surprise - a massive shift from the doo-wop/50's-60's-girl-group sound of her debut, and released so quickly after! Although I appreciated what she was going for at first, it ended up having a higher burnrate for me than a lot of the stuff from her debut that many people, especially around UKMIX, can't seem to tolerate at all "Dear Future Husband" + "Title" = <3
    • "Youth" is one of several standouts on Blue Neighbourhood, for sure, and it was great to see it become a decent-sized Hot 100 hit for him.

Actually 10/10 for me in the latest batch. "Hymn For The Weekend" is easily my fave there though, one of their best tracks to date

    • "Final Song" was a pretty universal smash around UKMIX, but it never managed to win me over quite as strongly. I don't mind it, just never got hooked on it either.
    • I got VERY into "Cheap Thrills", though! It's really refreshing to see someone NOT exclude Sean Paul for once I like both versions of the track, but I ended up downloading the version with him first, so that's the one I grew attached to more.
    • "Work", like "Cheap Thrills", is another of my absolute-biggest-personal-chart-smashes of 2016, so I'm definitely pleased to see it crack your Top 30! One of the most infectious hooks of the year.
    • "All We Know" may be a bit of a "Closer" clone, but considering how much I adore "Closer", I certainly can't complain!
    • "Better" is one of clear standouts on Thank You, and it deserved MUCH better treatment from the general public! At least you and I showed it some proper love, though. ;)
    • LOTB is another ANTI highlight, so I REALLY hope she delivers us a proper video sometime soon (though I'm losing faith with each passing day...)

    • "Cold Water" left me a bit...well...cold I was on-board with all of the Purpose singles, and I definitely got hooked on "Let Me Love You", but something about this particular Bieber offering just didn't click with me in the same way. Maybe I just set my expectations too high?
    • "Make Me..." was a pretty pleasant surprise from Brit - a refreshing shift away from all the EDM she'd been serving us in the 2010's, and I've already played it more than "Work Bitch."
    • I typically prefer Rihanna ft. Drake to Drake ft. Rihanna, but "Too Good" is probably my favorite example of the latter.
    • I've been sold on Ari since "The Way", and "Into You" is definitely one of the highlights on DW and definitely one of the highlights of 2016. It just might be the track with the best track record across all UKMIX Year-End Countdowns, and deservedly so!
    • Zayn's always been far-and-away my favorite member of 1D looks-wise (and probably voice-wise too, for that matter), but his solo offerings haven't charmed me quite as much. I liked "Pillowtalk", but I preferred "Like I Would."
    • As much as I applaud Sia for what she did with the video for "The Greatest", the track itself just doesn't quite do for it me (even though I LOVED the similar-sounding "Cheap Thrills.")

    • I've probably said this before, but Bieber delivered SUCH a strong string of singles from Purpose, and "Sorry" is quite possibly my favorite of them all! Sadly, my love for it wasn't really reflected on my Year-End Countdowns, since its chart run was sliced between 2015-2016, but I'm definitely glad it became such a smash for him on official charts and landed inside the Top 10 here!
    • "Side To Side" seemed to be a big fan favorite from the start, and it was easily her biggest hit across the globe this era, but for some reason it's always just been in the middle of the pack for me when it comes to Dangerous Woman overall, and I still can't put my finger on exactly why. Ari's definitely lookin' all kinds of fit in that video, though and it's always a treat to see her doing well on people's charts with any of her material.
    • "This Is What You Came For" is definitely one of my favorite Calvin offerings as a lead artist. When it first dropped, it actually got a bit overshadowed by "True Colors" for me, but it soon pulled ahead (and has stayed ahead ever since.)

Some big tunes in the last three batches! Rihanna going all soul diva on us with "Love on the Brain", the cool guy's anthem "Starboy", the dance-pop hurricane of "Into You", the sexy "Pillowtalk", the uplifting "The Greatest", and the huge grower that was "Sorry".

    29. SIA FEAT. SEAN PAUL - Cheap Thrills
    28. RIHANNA FEAT. DRAKE - Work
    22. RIHANNA - Love On The Brain
    21. THE WEEKND FEAT. DAFT PUNK - Starboy

    19. DRAKE - Controlla
    18. BRITNEY SPEARS FEAT. G-EAZY - Make Me…
    17. DRAKE FEAT. RIHANNA - Too Good
    16. ARIANA GRANDE - Into You
    14. ONEREPUBLIC - Kids
    13. ZAYN - Pillowtalk
    12. COLDPLAY - Everglow
    11. SIA FEAT. KENDRICK LAMAR - The Greatest
    10. JUSTIN BIEBER - Sorry
    09. ARIANA GRANDE FEAT. NICKI MINAJ - Side To Side
    08. CALVIN HARRIS FEAT. RIHANNA - This Is What You Came For
