It's alright, reminds me of "I Stand" by Gabriela Gunčíková (ESC2016) which got 0 televoting points in the Grand Final.

Yeah that's a good comparison actually. Probably would be the same fate for Sergey if he wasn't representing Russia, as I said before.

I could be wrong, but I guess this will receive some jury points mostly from Eastern European countries, maybe a few from the others for the (I'm assuming) epic staging. Then probably a few more televote points for the staging..but the song itself, I'm not sure what to think of it, atm it's just kind of unremarkable to me. But who knows the live performance might change my opinion on this.

Well I don’t think there’s any danger of Russia getting 0 in the televotes.

The Russian entry is so fake and that's what I seriously dislike about it. Sergey is a great artist and instead of letting him perform on of his own songs, Russia is trying so hard to be "artsy-fartsy" that it turned out being plastic and lifeless despite the orchestra's involvement. Of course, the song is listenable and not a complete disaster but I don't get the appeal, tbh. I just think that Russia tries to present Sergey in a completely different way...like the opposite of 2016 but it doesn't suit him either.
The lyrics are ridiculous "I swallow hard"? "THEY SCREEEEEEEEEAM".. it's just badly written.. and I don't like the melody either. I simply adore the arrangement which is indeed very classy and well-arranged but apart from that, the song is so bland, dull and forgettable. If Moldova, Switzerland or Belarus had submitted that entry, they wouldn't even qualify but due to Sergey's star power and Russia being Russia...this will end up being Top 5. #injustice

Sergeys entry back then was so much better than that one, sounds boring.
I am not trying to seduce you... Would you like me to seduce you? Is that what you're trying to tell me?

I wonder if LCD's will be back for 2019.

Also can't seem to find any information of an official album being released this year.

I feel this year is kind of .. MEH..
    Very few songs I liked.
I don't see what most ppl see in the Dutch entry, it sounds nice but not a winner to me.
Russian entry very disappointing as well. Was looking forward to a way better entry. Same goes for Australia. The thought was nice but when they put it together sounds annyoing.
I am very happy with the Slovenian entry, very unique and nice feel in my ears but not so eurovisionesque.
I'm rooting for Italy, they have been trying so hard to win it, but never manage to do.
Swiss and Cypriot entries are also very likely to win. So, that's my top 3 actually

This is too funny. Lenny Kuhr who won Eurovision in 1969 for the Netherlands wanted to release a new album today. But when she got the first edition home and played the CD, there was some other artist's music on the CD!
Now the album will be released next week.
When they asked for her comment, she said: "Well, the cover was alright."

I don't get those "This year is so bad" comments by hardcore fans.
This year as everything... we could the progressive, alternative tracks as well as dramatic ethno-influenced ballads, stripped-down radio-friendly tracks, orchestra sounds, the generic bops, true masterpieces and the trashy entries... it's a mixed bag.. also when it comes to languages.. a perfect year for Eurovision <3

Btw, bold prediction: Malta will end up being Top 5 <3

See Iceland are the obvious choice for horror movie favourites this year, but for me it's Portugal, I SWEAR I have had dark nightmares recently with that music and those people in it.

As for Malta, I think Malta or Cyprus would have both had a chance at the top 5 this year, but the two of them are so similar that I sadly think they will cancel each other out, depending on whether one has much better staging than the other.

Using that link that flopho posted a while back I've made my first attempt at ordering the songs, I have to say I am feeling slightly more positive than I originally was, there is a big gap this year between the really good and the really average though.

41 Georgia - This is the only song I haven't found a studio version of yet, and I don't really think that will change anything, it amuses me watching their performance how the "coach" on that show is really into the performance.

40 Croatia - Transporting me back to 2002.

39 Austria - Just find this very dreary and way too much falsetto.

38 Israel - Really don't like the song or the tone of his voice.

37 Hungary - Origo grew on me with the live version, so this might too, but for now it's doing nothing for me.

36 Moldova - A step back for them, after two great years of offering something fun, they went back to painfully basic.

35 France - Dull song, something irks me about him too.

34 Serbia - Leaving no lasting impact on me, she's got a strong voice though.

33 Iceland - I look forward to seeing what they offer for a performance but I don't really remember the song.

32 Macedonia - They took a step backwards this year too, this is trying so hard to deliver a message that it forgets to deliver a melody.

31 Sweden - Their worst entry in years for me, it's almost a parody of a Swedish entry, absolutely no personality at all.

30 Albania - I feel this is similar to a lot of previous Albanian entries, I haven't written this one off yet though as "Mall" was a surprise favourite for me in the final last year.

29 Australia - There are parts of this I like (the pop vocals), but the screeching and operatic parts I really don't like.

28 Portugal - I described this above as nightmarish and that's what I mostly get from this, but at least it's not as blah as other entries, it seems like more pretentious artsy weirdo stuff from Portugal. Where is Suzy?

27 Latvia - I don't know if this can do a Common Linnets and surprise on the night, or if it is just elevator music.

26 Germany - This is slightly more interesting than the last few years of German entries, but it's still middling for me.

25 Romania - There are parts of this I quite like and parts I just don't remember.

24 Slovenia - Quite nice but nowhere near competitive enough for Eurovision.

23 UK - I think staged well, this could lift up a bit, there is something I don't really like about him though, he seems a bit arrogant.

22 Russia - I think this will grow on me with more listens, it's very polished but does it stand out beside other male ballads this year?

21 Norway - I think this brings some fun to the ESC this year, but I'm still not convinced on the male "Aqua" vocals.

20 Lithuania - I think this might do ok, Lithuania also exceeded expectations with "This Time" and "I've Been Waiting For This Night", this is a similar nice pop song

19 Finland - I think songs like this will always struggle at Eurovision, such as Gromee last year for Poland, it's a good dance track, but I wonder how it will translate to a performance.

18 Poland - My first listen to this was not great, but it's grown on me, I think the vocals will divide people, but now I've listened a few times I quite like them.

17 Estonia - Sounds like it's gone down the Heroes/Euphoria route but not as strong as those.

16 Spain - Fun typically Spanish song, he needs to quit the awkward dancing though.

15 Belarus - I think this is very current, if they can polish it up a bit then it could do well for them.

14 Armenia - Makes a great pop song, again not sure if it's competitive enough for Eurovision, kind of reminds me of Croatia last year.

13 Denmark - I think this is lovely, certainly their best entry in years.

12 Czech Republic - The first song that I liked this year, songs like this always seem to perform well at Eurovision, I think it's a likely qualifier.

11 Belgium - This one has grown on me, moody and dark. Hope they improve on last years staging, because staged well this could do well.

10 Greece - Love her vocals, one of the stronger female songs this year.

9 San Marino - Never thought I would see them in my top 10, but you know what you're getting with Serhat, they're not taking themselves too seriously with this one, it's camp, fun, catchy, I think they have a great chance of qualifying this year.

8 Malta - Very instant, Malta should do well this year.

7 Cyprus - See above, I just hope these 2 don't end up losing votes from each other.

6 Montenegro - I think this is so sweet, and they seem likeable, but I am seeing this at between 38-41 on everyone elses list I have seen. Same way I felt about Moldova last year....

5 Ireland - This is underrated, love this song and her.

4 Italy - Has been my favourite until the last couple of weeks, I think I might have overplayed it because it's starting to fade just a little for me.

3 Netherlands - This is really strong, I'm surprised it's favourite to win because again not sure how competitive it is, but I hope they can do something special with the staging.

2 Switzerland - They have been middle of the road for as long as I can remember, but they went all out this year, this is excellent and could easily be a radio hit.

1 Azerbaijan - This just edges it for me, I think it's polished to perfection, the visuals give promise for some excellent staging too.

I think this has to be the first time ever my top 4 are all men, but they're really bringing it this year.

Your top 4 are all equally strong whilst also being distinctive in their own ways. Right now i've got Cyprus, Malta and Greece as my favourite female led entries even though i realise just how similar they both are.

Still not feeling Montenegro though. :( Idk they're more Hear'Say, less Liberty X if we're making those comparisons. I'm just not convinced of them as a group and i'm not keen on the song either. :(
