Queen Celine attended the show last night, she purchased tickets for her and her entire crew as Christmas presents and can be seen in Pepe's Instagram Stories having a ball.

It's not the best photo of our Celine (it's the lighting more than anything), but Gaga was clearly very humbled to have her there in attendance - and what a graceful few words she said as well. A really nice moment.

What an honor to have the Queen of Vegas in the audience, supporting Gaga and having such a great time. Those videos of Celine dancing are priceless!

I was at Enigma last night and OMG. I’m still in awe.
I’ve seen Gaga live on every tour, even on Roseland on 2nd row, but this one was, without a doubt, the best experience for me.

We were standing, early entry floor tickets. We got an amazing place, really close to the stage and the catwalk. It’s the closest I’ve ever seen her, I just couldn’t believe how close she was singing and walking like 3 meters away from me...

The theatre is really big and it was (obviously) sold out.
The audience was amazing. Standing, singing and jumping throughout the concert. The energy was incredible.

I loved the stage. The huge screens. The backdrops with the Anime Gaga videos. The whole concert has a storyline with the Enigma character talking to Gaga about the future and all that. (Gaga is such a drama queen...)
The show starts, Gaga lowered from the ceiling and suspended in midair over the crowd. What a moment.
While I loved the neon make-up and the Act 1 look, some costumes and wigs could be better, though, not gonna lie.
Kudos to the dancers and the band. Amazing job.

She picked one of the many letters fans threw to the stage from an Australian girl, big fan, and asked her to go to the stage with her. The girl knew how to play piano and played “You and I” with her. Really talented. It was a beautiful moment.

Only song on the setlist that I would have skipped is “I’m afraid of Americans”, the Bowie cover. It’s out of place. I would replace “Government Hooker” with “Marry the Night” or “Perfect Illusion”, to be honest. God, I really enjoyed “Scheiße”. “Shallow” as the encore was another highlight, as the whole theater was singing along and it has become one of Gaga’s signature songs (although I do prefer to end concerts in a high energy moment, so closing with BTW would have worked better for me).

No shade intended, but once I’ve seen Celine, Xtina and Gaga shows this week in Vegas, I realize why some residencies work commercially and others don’t.
It’s not only about being in a high point in your career or not. It’s because of how good the show is, the stage, the storyline, the energy and commitment of the artist... and all that is reflected on the audience’s reaction.
As I posted in my Xtina’s review, the audience (at least at my show) felt numb. Sitting and looking all bored. Not standing, singing and dancing. And while it’s not completely Xtina’s fault, her show felt disjointed, the audience (fans at the pit aside) doesn’t connect.
The energy and the excitement on the audience last night at Enigma and the other day at Celine’s show (in a different way, as it’s a completely different type of show) just proves why Celine has been the Queen of Vegas all these years and why Gaga (in the event she adds more legs!) will take the helm as the new or modern Queen of Vegas (as her huge record breaking boxscore numbers proved).

    Jazz & Piano show tonight!

My review of my Jazz & Piano show last night.

Sold out show once again. Funny to watch the dress-code was so diverse... Some fans with her Gaga t-shirts, sitting next to other people dressed as if they were going to the Opera or some charity gala in cocktail dresses...

The show length was 2 hours and 30 minutes...
Tony Bennet joined her on stage to sing Cheek to Cheek and The Lady is a Tramp. I think Tony’s health is worse than it was a few years ago during the C2C era. He missed his lines several times and Gaga had to solve it. He seemed a bit lost. However, it’s incredible that a man over 90 is still in that condition and singing.

She performed “Please Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” (the cover she sings in Bryan Newman’s album) for the first time.

Even if I enjoyed Enigma a lot more than Jazz & Piano, this show is a must for both fans and general public.
Gaga’s voice is just something else singing jazz. She’s completely on her element.

I had the bad luck to be seated next to a big fan who didn’t care if this was an “intimate” show, to be sitting listening and enjoying the music, not your regular pop concert when you can sing your lungs out.
So he was singing along over Gaga (the rest of the audience was listening quietly). And in this show Gaga changes the melodies, the tempo... she’s on the piano or singing jazz. So this guy was never in sync with her. A mess. I would have literally killed him. My shut the fuck up looks didn’t seem to work...
Worse thing was, whenever Gaga performed any song he didn’t know, he took his phone to check the videos he has just recorded...
    God, what a disrespectful guy.

Anyway. Don’t think it’s like the audience has to be all quiet and boring. We were all cheering, having fun, there were standing ovations basically after every song, Gaga told the audience to stand up several times... Despite the 2 and a half hours, the show is not long or boring at all. Gaga has some funny speeches between songs and her energy during the concert is amazing. Kudos to the band. The jazz/orchestral arrangement to Paparazzi was amazing.

I also loved the looks. She was reeeeally beautiful.

Even if some might think it sounds like some typical stan thing to say, I don’t care, I was watching her last night and listening to her sing like that, perform like that, play the piano like that... and think that just 24 hours before she was that other girl, the pop star... and you can only think there’s no other artist like her right now. So versatile and so talented.

Interesting article on Billboard today about what I said in my last paragraph ^

After Awards Season Triumph, Lady Gaga's Las Vegas Residency Reminds Us She Was Born to Perform

2018 and the first half of 2019 may have been all about “Shallow” and A Star Is Born, but this year's second act marks a welcome return of sorts for Lady Gaga -- and her latest round of gigs in Las Vegas proved it.

Gaga makes herself at home in many places, from the gutters of the Lower East Side to the front row at the Academy Awards to a technological marvel of a theater on Sin City’s strip. The vehicle for last year’s triumph was her feature film starring role debut in A Star Is Born, and its signature song, “Shallow,” her duet with co-star and director Bradley Cooper, necessitates its own cabinet for the number of statuettes it earned at various ceremonies. The three years leading up to A Star Is Born’s release saw Gaga spending more time on screen -- with a featured role in American Horror Story, as well as Five Foot Two, the candid Netflix documentary that followed her up to her 2018 Super Bowl performance -- than onstage, in part due to her struggle with chronic pain that led to the cancelation of whole legs of her Joanne World Tour in 2016 and 2017.

Before that, she knelt on the beer-sticky floors of dive bars and, in the case of the Bitter End in New York, swung a leg over the lip of its roof with the territorial confidence of an alley cat, making a point to play these tiny joints before stadiums and arenas to introduce her album Joanne in the fall of 2016. She’s as agile and at ease on a red carpet as she is the basements and lofts she played before anyone knew who she was, and just as comfortable in stadiums. (As she did at the Bitter End, she got familiar with the roof of NRG stadium when she launched herself from it and descended upon the Super Bowl halftime show in 2017.)

Vegas may be the only place where the pantless Gaga of Rivington Street days past and the Oscar-touting Gaga of the present can inhabit the same ferociously talented being at the same time -- or at least it's where she has the most fun embracing every shade of her(selves).

This is crystal clear now that A Star Is Born is in the rearview mirror. The first week of June marked Gaga’s return to Vegas for her first run of shows since her awards-season winning streak, and with it comes an acute awareness of the additional space the accolades provide for her to take her art and message far and wide without having to travel the world. She’s relishing in playing whatever she wants, however she wants, on a grand or small scale of her choosing: she’ll sing “Shallow” for you, sure, but she’ll also wail the chorus of “Paparazzi” while careening above the crowd in an egg-shaped wire cage with smoke billowing out the bottom one night, and bring out Tony Bennett to reprise their “Cheek to Cheek” duet in sassy, brassy vintage glory the next. She's taken to popping up after her own shows at the residency of Brian Newman, her longtime friend and trumpet player in her Jazz & Piano band, who's taken over the neighboring NoMad's library bar. Like those who come to see her, Gaga goes to Vegas with the intent of maximalizing her experience -- she just gets standing ovations, usually many a night, for doing so.

This is less a return to form and more a refreshment of her roots -- a brash, unapologetic, eccentric injection of fun into her regular routine after her earnest and straight-laced time with Cooper and Co. Between her Thursday (June 6) performance of Enigma and Sunday (June 8) Jazz & Piano showing, Gaga teased, ribbed, cackled, wept, consoled and empowered her sold-out audiences. Her banter has never been more mischievous and delightfully unhinged. (She went for the laughs as much as possible with the Jazz & Piano crowd especially, smooching married women in front of their baffled husbands and sparring with “Big Bird,” the giant feathered throw she dragged across the Park Theater’s massive stage.) When she invited a group of middle school kids out to raise awareness for her Born This Way Foundation’s latest effort to bring mental health programs to schools during Enigma, she dedicated “A Million Reasons” to them and proceeded to comfort one crying student who sat down next to her at the piano. She thrives on connection, and though she’s singing other people’s songs for Jazz & Piano and putting on a new, cerulean-haired persona for Enigma, she continues to approach her Vegas concerts with invigorating intimacy -- even when she doesn’t have to.

Instead of retreating into the private, cushy swaths of fame in the wake of the most lauded accomplishment of her career to date, she’s getting as close to her fans as she can, and genuinely enjoying the experience she’s engineered for them and herself in the process. It’s a successful exercise that reminds you how vibrant and voracious of a performer she is, and how adventurous and possible creative exploration feels when she’s rolling the dice.

I hope she'll release both shows or make a Netflix deal and release it there. Both shows sound so good.
