Justin Timberlake Announces New Album 'Man of the Woods,' Reveals Release Date
1/2/2018 by Taylor Weatherby
Justin Timberlake fans, the wait is finally over. More than four years after the release of JT's album The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2, the "Sexyback" singer has revealed that his next LP is on the way -- and soon.
The 36-year-old unveiled a minute-long teaser trailer for the record on Twitter Tuesday morning (Jan. 2), which disclosed that Timberlake's fifth studio album, titled Man of the Woods, is set to arrive Feb. 2.
"This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but more so than any other album I've ever written, where I'm from," Timberlake says in the video. "And it's personal."
Showing clips of Timberlake in various landscapes -- with glimpses of his wife, Jessica Biel and son, Silas -- the video also features audio of the singer's album collaborator Pharrell. "It feels so earthy," he says. "It's just where you are in your life right now."
The video also features a clip of what sounds like the first bit of music fans will be hearing from Man of the Woods, the end sees Pharrell and Timberlake in the studio with Pharrell exclaiming, "That is a smash."
Man of the Woods' Feb. 2 release is perfectly timed for Timberlake's much-anticipated Super Bowl halftime show performance on Feb. 4. Whether he'll be performing songs from the album is still unclear, but JT fans will likely be finding out more in the coming weeks -- starting Friday (Jan. 5), as hinted in the video's caption.

"Filthy" is good,i love it
kinda feels like SB,
It's not rising as quickly as I expected it to. I hope the song is a huge success for Justin because it has all the ingredients of a smash hit.
I was pretty sure it will be no 1 already at this time around. Well... still doesn't sound like a 1st single material.
Apparently iTunes was frozen. It's #2 in the US now.![]()

Selling 67% of Finesse in the US in the latest LivePopBars update. #3 is on 38%.
Love this new sound from JT. How's it doing in the UK?
Surely whoever speaks to me in the right voice
Him or her I shall follow
Not great. It's peaked at #7 on UK iTunes so far, where it's currently sitting.Originally Posted by AlphaMale

As for me, I'd find these performances believable had he came straight from The 20/20 Experience to this, but the massive success of CAN'T STOP THE FEELING! I think gave him far more momentum than he would have otherwise had.
^ I disagree, personally. Can't Stop the Feeling always felt completely detached from Justin Timberlake's regular career. I think loads of kids who streamed and loved the song (not saying they were the only ones, obviously, but it helped) have very little to no knowledge of JT and who he is.
Not saying the song would've been a huge hit no matter who sang it... But I don't think it helped raise his profile or increased his chances of scoring again in any way.
And THIS song... Well, it's a bit weird.
Up to 83% in the US. Perhaps it will overtake Finesse by the evening in America.
Let’s see the Spotify and airplay updates tomorrow, but so far the iTunes performance has been a bit underwhelming, specially in UK and Australia...
Itunes performance didn't showcase the greatest start, but I think he'll pull good streaming numbers and Radio will support him.
Britney Spears . Michael Jackson . Madonna . Metallica . Radiohead . Led Zeppelin . Oasis . Beyoncé . Soda Stereo
It has stalled around the mid-80% mark in the US. Looks like Finesse is remaining perched at #1. It's up to #5 in the UK, though.![]()
To be honest, this song is very underwhelming. Not to mention, he is facing serious competition with Bruno (who is rolling out the big hits).
I've got so much love
Got so much patience
I've learned from the pain
I turned out amazing
Filthy - Spotify 5/1
#7 US
#13 Worldwide
#13 Canada
#14 UK
The video is a massive disappointment in my opinion
I bet that "Finesse" without the Cardi B feature wouldn't have been competitive at all.Originally Posted by GetBack
