I've had a request to post the UK Airplay charts along with the weekly airplay chart analysis which is published in Music Week each week.
Two main UK Airplay charts are compiled each week by Radio Monitor. One covers radio airplay, the other videos which are shown on music video channels on TV. The chart date is the date that the chart is published (a Friday) and the tracking period is the 7 days to the previous day (Friday to Thursday). For example, for the chart dated Friday 5 January 2018 the tracking period is Friday 29 December 2017 to Thursday 4 January 2018. The chart analysis is written by Alan Jones and is published in Music Week each week.
The charts covers just about every radio staion and music video TV station in the UK. The only radio stations that most likely don't report data are going to be small community stations with very small audience figures. I'm less certain about what TV stations may not be included but again the main channels are included. The radio airplay chart measures audience impressions by tracking the actual time of day a track is played and linking this back to the average audience that is estimated to be listening at that particular time. The estimates of audience by reference to radio station and time of day are provided by RAJAR, an industry body that calculates estimated audience figures on a quarterly basis. For TV airplay the chart simply measures how many times a video was played with no reference to audience size.
With thanks to MJ2018 who posts these charts at BuzzJack and of course to Alan Jones and Music Week for the airplay analysis.
