Stevie was so ahead of its time... the other day I was listening to a random shuffle mix of his 70s stuff and this underrated gem from Songs In the Key of Life came on. The first half is your standard pretty Stevie ballad song, but then the second half of the song, the female "answer" to Stevie's half of the song kicks in and the song was at least 20 years ahead of its time... so many 90s r&b female acts copied this. I could've heard En Vogue or someone doing the exact same thing decades later.
