Gaon's "Digital chart" is revenue chart while download and streaming, others are just raw number. do you understand korean? because I do. lol

    they set those 150:1 / 1,500:1 ratio based on avg revenue per stream $0.006. 150 =$0.9 / 1,500= $9.
for example OCC "the 1,000 ratio is used to reflect the broad difference in value between a track stream and the price paid for an album."

They should simply make a download and a streaming chart for the singles. From a worldwide view, downloads are still okay.

Physical shipments sometimes take up to a year or more to be sent back.

    In what countries?

I could be mistaken but I vaguely remember reading something on this a few years ago about the UK charts. Here in the UK, a retailer pays for the albums they think they are able to sell - I believe that they have 28 days from that point to then decide whether they wish to return the albums to the label (it's not like it used to be - "sale or return").

Will see if I can find the article.

Maybe I don't speak Korean as good as you do, I think my English is much better but still I don't understand your last sentence.
Can you, please show me where on Gaon website they say about Digital Chart being a revenue based chart? The only place where we can find any info about it is on section FAQ, question 5 from the top, point 1 of the answer, but what we really have up there? Digital Chart is an aggregate of downloads, streaming and background music adjusted for right fees. Where they say about the ratio you quote and the prices for a stream? Where they say about ratio and the prices for a downloaded track or background music track? Because Digital Chart consists from those three components, not only one. If Gaon Digital Chart is revenue based does it mean that the "big" number we have next to each song is an income in Korean Won? If yes why it's called Gaon Digital Score? And finally why certification is for streaming (100 mln / 1 BLN), not for revenue?
I checked many different forums and had discussion with many people about it, most of them are very confused and not happy about the new system Gaon uses. Well it's not so new, because a few years ago Gaon had something similar to current one. It seems that some kind of revenue is used to calculate the Digital Charts but we can't say it's pure revenue based chart.
But maybe I'm wrong, I always eager to learn something new and if there is an opportunity to do it about Korean Gaon charts, I will be more than happy. In the end we are here to help each other, especially with the things which are not clear.

    Thank you LostAvenger!

    What’s the source, though?
I could only find it on a Chinese forum...

Completely terrible to see the #50 with 300k copies.
They better make it SPS soon, otherwise we’ll get to see the #50 below 100k... :(

    Most likely lol.
But but but where's the album about lemons? According to Bey fans it's the new 21. If it was it would be in the top 50.

But that title goes to Christmas by Buble, been in the top 50 since 2011.

Is it a new released album?

Or was it released prior to 2017? If so, maybe the shipments occurred prior to 2017.

IFPI is not global any more. With lots of errors and of course fake numbers. Thanks God SPS is not included. But I don't want to have the same discussion about it. Just wanna repeat: album must be an album, if the albums are not selling any more, so be it. Even if that means there will be very low numbers (#50 with less than 100 K copies, so what??) or there will be no album charts at all. Most countries in the world don't have album charts, because there aren't enough numbers of copies being sold, they don't try artificially create those numbers, like some western countries do now.

#50 on this chart has sold 0,3 mln copies. That means it can be 250.000 or 349.999, right? So where are the albums from France?:

    Soprano - L'Everest 406.100
    Vianney - Vianney 310.300
Johnny Hallyday - 50 Plus Belles Chansons 269.100
    Calogero - Liberté Chérie 268.300
Claudio Capéo - Claudio Capéo 265.300
Les Enfoirés - Mission Enfoirés 263.200

These are only physical + digital copies.

And how about Japan and those albums taken from Oricon 2017 yearly chart (only physical copies and without at least two last weeks of the year):

    Namie Amuro - Finally 1.777.850
    SMAP - SMAP 25 Years 1.174.338
    Arashi - Untitled 774.993
    AKB48 - Thumbnail 632.615
    Back Number - Encore 555.480
Sandaime J Soul Brothers From Exile Tribe - The JSB World 467.005
Nogizaka 46 - The Dream I Saw For The First Time I Was Born 411.265
    Kanjani Eight - Jam 375.219
Keyakizaka 46 - I Want To Foul White Blank Objects 366.525
Hey! Say! Jump - Hey! Say! Jump 2007-2017 I/O 355.491
One OK Rock - Ambitions 347.476
    Yuzu - Yuzu Iroha 1997-2017 337.484
    Keisuke Kuwata - Garakuta 286.573
Spitz - Cycle Hit 1991-2007 Spitz Complete Single Collection 258.942
    Twice - Twice 256.282

We can add of course digital copies for those albums too. Some examples:

    Back Number - Encore 108.397
One OK Rock - Ambitions 79.611
    Yuzu - Yuzu Iroha 28.695

Kenshi Yonezu - Bootleg has been sold in Japan in 2017 in 241.754 physical copies and 44.434 digital

No South Korea on the chart either:

    BTS - LOVE YOURSELF:HER 1.493.443
EXO - THE WAR (korean version) 949.827
BTS - YOU NEVER WALK ALONE 768.402
WANNA ONE - TO BE ONE 741.546
WANNA ONE - NOTHING WITHOUT YOU 614.072
    EXO - UNIVERSE 516.062
EXO - THE POWER OF MUSIC (korean version) 455.269
    GOT 7 - 7 FOR 7 368.589
    SEVENTEEN - TEENAGE 357.296
    GOT 7 - ARRIVAL 334.316
    SEVENTEEN - AI1 331.888
    TWICE - TWICETAGRAM 320.389
    NU'EST - W, HERE 308.108
    TWICE - SIGNAL 285.294
    TWICE - TWICECOASTER LANE 2 277.716

Numbers above are only from S. Korea of course and are physical copies, but we know that with other countries those numbers are even bigger.
Why still anybody pay any attention to IFPI reports?

    11. for Helene Fischer it's very huge .. 1,000,000 pure sales 2017 with only Germany, Austria, Switzerland ( especially Germany in sales )

With only 3 countries, Helene Fischer manages to compete with all other artists in the world !!! ... Legend

In Germany, Helene Fischer has a monumental success. I do not know if was already an other artist who dominated so much Germany sales.

Claudio Capéo - Claudio Capéo 265.300
Les Enfoirés - Mission Enfoirés 263.200

These are only physical + digital copies.
The IFPI list deals with shipments only - half of your albums are pre-2017 releases (and therefore, though their sales may be what you posted, less than 349,000 of the shipments might have been shipped prior to 2017). Further, as you said - the list covers up to 349,000 at the bottom - therefore, the other half of your list likely have shipped less than that.

No South Korea on the chart either:
Can't understand why they've excluded Asian acts.

There are albums pre-2017 on IFPI list already like Bruno Mars - 24K Magic (2016), Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory (2000) or Amy Winehouse - Back To Black (2006).... They don't have any problems with shipments, only French albums? But no Asian acts say everything about this list.

You’re missing the point. If those albums shipped sufficient copies, they’d be on the list.

I think the real and only issue is the absence of Asian acts.

I think the real point is still the same: shipments are not real sales, because you can ship 1.000.000 copies to the shops and sell only 200.000 or less. So we can't say IFPI list is the list of best selling albums, can we?
I can't believe they demand so much money for this crap.
