I'd completely forgotten that Mel was introduced as the sister of vicar Alex Healy and daughter of Jeff Healy who dated Pauline. The actor who played Jeff had previously played Brian Wicks, Pat's ex and father of Simon/step-father of David.

Mel's story was so ridiculous she painted him as a local celebrity, I'd have been googling him to find out more.

Thankfully that foster child and her annoying new dads have gone. Whoever this skank at the end is can do one though.

Stacey has become such a hateful person. I know people complained that she just turned into a frumpy housewife but a lot of that was character progression. I don’t want the nasty Stacey back tbh.

Agree. I think her character, frumpy housewife or not, was a true reflection of everything she'd been through and we still saw glimmers of old Stacey now and again like when she squared up to Karen.

Except this has been the best side storyline in a while. As someone who grew up with parents that fostered kids, they did a pretty good job at expressing what happens when kids move on.

I think Arshad and Miriam are going to be pretty good long term characters. They’re slightly isolated at the moment but they’re a good fit for the show. Miriam and Dot will work well together... just wait until they start quoting the Bible and Koran to each other

She’s been in baby mode for the last few years, but I’ve really enjoyed her character development as a result - most characters don’t get any when they have a baby.

That said, Stacey is a Slater and cheating seems to be a family requirement
