Iíll watch it, but I donít think itís necessary. I wonder if Dame Maggie will be in it.

Apparently 20 of the cast are in it, including Dame Maggie. I would guess that at about 150 year old now, The Dowager could be killed off. She certainly did well to survive series 6, because I thought it was almost a guarantee.

I would love her to win an Oscar for this though - most probably the only one who would, and give her her 3rd statuette,

I canít imagine this getting any Oscar attention in all honest, despite Dame Maggie being involved.

One of my highlights was watching Joanne Froggatt receive a Golden Globe for this.

Well, Julian Fellowes is writing it, and he himself is an Oscar winning script writer for a historical drama. It probably wonít win oscars (though maybe best costumes?) but the most likely candidate imo would be Dame Maggie, herself a Hollywood and Oscar darling.

Iíd be surprised if he donít write her a juicy part, but it all depends on whether or not itís a movie thatís an actual movie, or the next episode put into cinemas. Thereís a fine line and Iím personally hoping for a movie.

I wonder when itíll be set? Iíd like the kids to be a bit older so they can at least feature.

Lily James has confirmed she wonít be in the film. I donít mind that, I donít think she added much to the show.

She was a poor replacement for Sybil anyway.

Over a year away. Given that they just started filming, I thought it mightíve been out before then. I met Michelle Dockery last week and she was so lovely, the complete opposite of Mary.

Well sheís no lady is she

Iím so happy Imelda Staunton has joined the cast - sheís such an amazing actress. I like that itís being released next September - that was the traditional Downton time of year, and gives me enough time after Game of Thrones to rewatch the entire saga.

I met Cora a few years ago - she was signing copies of her album so I bought one

I just finished watching the tv series a few days ago with my partner. Weíd never seen it before and omg it really was everything. The final episode was tv perfection.

Iím very excited at the idea of a movie. I do wish Lily was going to be in it though. I missed her so much in the final series and was thrilled she was back for the finale.

Iím sure itíll be absolutely divine no matter. Really one of the best tv shows Iíve ever watched.

Even Michelle Dockery shared the same news on her Instagram with a photo from the set of Downtown Abbey. So excited!

I hope they keep spoilers to a minimum. I think if this works theyíll definitely do a sequel or two - TV shows turned into movies can be quite the gamble. I doubt this would have happened if it hadnít been for the US taking to the show too - though I guess weíd have had the TV special eventually.

I still hate Dan Stevens for leaving - Sybil too to an extent, but her exit was actually quite good and storylined well. Matthew should have just been killed in the war.

I hope to god Edith lords it over Mary, having the best title out of them all now
