This is the first Lena album that caught my attention... EVER.

The production is so much neater than what she did in the past and this seems a fairly proper piece of work.

DEAR L is a great opener and sounds well-composed. PRIVATE THOUGHTS really picks up on that self-reflective moodiness.

I have yet to digest all the songs. So far I really like what I am hearing.

It’s so far away and evolved from the SATELLITE singer.

This is so smooth. It will accompany through summer I guess. Might become her most played album in my library.

So my absolute favorite song is definitely ”dear L“. My other faves are don’t lie to me, thank you, sex in the morning, love and skinny bitch.

The only songs that I don’t like too much are ”ok“ and ”life was a beach“. Both because I don’t like the lyrics in the chorus AT ALL lol.

This is a strong pop album. Especially for a german singer. The only song which I didn't like was skinny bitch, cringy lyrics imo dear L and love are the standout besides the singles after the first listen

She really thinks begging her fans to stream the album on her Insta story every day is gonna get her that #1. There was an album release party on friday and she performed ”don’t lie to me“ at the KCA‘s. She didn’t even update her Twitter. She also did some radio promo the day before the album dropped but still...

She is never going to top Andrea Berg but at the end of the day every sale counts. Top3 would already be a success

I understand why she wants to be #1 again. Her last two albums peaked at #2.

    Lena:

    Amazon CD #10
    Amazon Fanbox #124
    iTunes #2
    Apple Music #4

    Andrea Berg:

    Amazon CD #2
    Amazon Fanbox #108
    iTunes #1
    Apple Music #18

Andrea will obviously be #1. Her fans still buy albums and she’s actually promoting her ass off judging from what I‘ve just seen on her Instagram. I don’t want see Lena crying when she doesn’t reach #1 because she literally didn’t do anything for it lol.

Yeah, they picked the wrong release week AGAIN. They already did it with "Crystal Sky" (competing against Andreas Gabalier).

Anyways, I hope she makes it to #2 - or #3 at least. But having five consecutive Top3 (or even Top2) albums out of five releases in total is quite impressive for a female pop singer from Germany who sings in English. Don't even know if there was a female pop singer who also did it, Lena could actually be the first one to do so?

Being an English language album gives her an advantage over other German artists

After a few spins this has grown on me. Definitely her second best work to date. "Don't Lie To Me", "Dear L" and "Skinny Bitch" are my faves so far.

private thoughts, dear L, boundaries and some other tracks make this a rather good album.

Still not a Lena fan, but this is probably the first record of hers I listen to.

She‘s finally starting to promote the album properly. She performed an acoustic version of ”don’t lie to me“ on TV today, she’s visiting several radio stations and she’s doing a few album signings this week.

Just bought the album after coming back from my latest trip.
Still wanted to do it today to support her in the first week

Hope she gets another Top 3 spot.
Haven't listend to the album yet but reading your comments comforts me. It seems that she has released another solid and good pop record.

Listening to it for the first time now, "dear L" is already such a great album opener! What a bop!

After some spins, I really think that it's a very solid record. Time will tell if it's going to my favourite record by Lena. I'm still in love with the mood, vibes and productions gathered on "Crystal Sky"; songs such as "Catapult" and "Home" are simply phenomenal and huge contenders to become my all-time favourites by Lena.

"Only Love, L" seems way more relaxed, stripped-down and laid-back record. A bit trend-chasing maybe? It still feels very much Lena and it's very cohesive as well but in some parts, I just miss some oomph.. especially songs such as "Life Was A Beach", "Sex In The Morning" and "Skinny Beach" are not really convincing.
Overall, it feels she has been heavily involved in the process of creating this album but still, I think she's not re-creating the magic of "Home" and "If I Wasn't Your Daughter" on this album in terms of being personal.
Of course, being personal doesn't equal delivering sad music dealing with traumatic experiences but somehow, I was expecting a bit more or at least, the record going into a different direction.

Anyway, this album is another success and proves that LENA is clearly Germany's biggest female artist in terms of international quality. Production-wise, Lena can clearly hold up to the likes of Dua Lipa, Sigrid and Selena Gomez and I still wish her all the best and success because I don't want Germany to lose the last "international-like" star performing pop music in English we got left.

My favourite tracks so far are:
"Dear L", "Note To Myself", "Private Thoughts", "Love".

This holds up very well. Some tracks really need time and the overall theme of the album unfolds over time. I think unlike it more now than a few days ago.

Highlights: Boundaries, Skinny Bitch, Don't lie to me

Ah, that's interesting. Already thought "Scared" sounds like an obvious single as it sounds like so many chart songs do these days (Chainsmokers & Co. say hi).

That's not an easy thing to say... since you were a big fan, check it out. But my opinion is that the singles are very representative of the album, so you may end up being disappointed, plus it takes more than one spin to really get into it.
