    • hey,

2018 has come to an end in terms of my personal charts as I just posted the last issue of my weekly charts on the 'Personal Charts' forum.
My 2018 Year End Charts will look like this:

      - Top 100 songs
      - Top 50 albums
      - Top 100 artists

2018 has been a great year in music. As 2017 was one of the strongest years in the current decade, I had high expectations. Usually , always got disappointed. For example 2010 was AWESOME, 2011 only had like one good album (21 by Adele). 2012 was brilliant, 2013 was boring! But 2018 really had great albums and lots of beautiful songs.

There were five album tracks that I really adore:
      - 'Better Off' by Ariana Grande ('SWEETENER')
      - 'Never Let Me Go' by JESS GLYNNE ('ALWAYS IN BETWEEN')
      - 'NINTENDO GAME' by ALESSIA CARA ('THE PAINS OF GROWING')
      - 'VELVET ROPE' by RITA ORA ('PHOENIX')

but the best out of them all is...

It's also the best song on ANNE-MARIE's debut album 'SPEAK YOUR MIND' in my opinion.

I am excited for 2019 as it is already very promising. I am going to see P!nk at least three times and lots of albums by artists that I like seem to be released.

      POINTS: 128, certified GOLD

the first ten songs on my year end charts. 'loyal' by paloma faith is the first to fall. it was placed a few spots higher just last week but with the most recent charts issue, four songs collected a few more points to place higher. two of them are 'ruin my life' by zara larsson and sade's 'the big unknown'. Those two along with 'close to me' by ellie goulding + diplo featuring swae lee and imagine dragons' 'zero' made it to the Top 100 in the last week of 2018 as they are (still) charting and collected the necessary points to get a top 100 position on the 2018 year end charts.

the first song from 2017 to fall is lorde's 'homemade dynamite' which already made it to the 2017 year end charts (#59). is the first song on the 2018 year end charts to already chart for a second year. another song from 2017 made it to the top 100 - 'friends' by justin bieber + bloodpop makes it to the top 100 year end charts for the first time - just missing the 2017 year end charts by 5 positions.

the oldest song so far to appear on my 2018 year end charts is rihanna's 'sex with me', originally released in 2016, it made it to the top of my weekly charts in 2017 and charted for quite a few weeks in 2018, too. the song appeared at #3 on the 2017 year end charts already. imagine dragons are the first act to place two songs on the year end charts - 'born to be yours' by kygo featuring imagine dragons places at #91.

YASSS so happy this has started now!

Also love the shout out to your favorite album tracks. Nice to hear "Nintendo Game" is also my fave on Alessia's album while i really enjoy the ones by Rita, Ariana and Anne-Marie as well.

    #100 PALOMA FAITH 'LOYAL'
#099 ZARA LARSSON 'RUIN MY LIFE'
    #097 LORDE 'HOMEMADE DYNAMITE'
#096 ELLIE GOULDING & DIPLO 'CLOSE TO ME (ft. SWEA LEE)'
#095 FLORENCE + THE MACHINE 'SKY FULL OF SONGS'
    #094 IMAGINE DRAGONS 'ZERO'

    #092 RIHANNA 'SEX WITH ME'
#091 KYGO 'BORN TO BE YOURS (ft. IMAGINE DRAGONS)'

Quite a good start already as i like a lot in this first group. "Homemade Dynamite" and "Born To Be Yours" are definitely my faves here. Have to revisit "Ruin My Life" and "Close To Me" next year, as they didn't do much on me when they came out even though i love Zara and Ellie.

'Ruin My Life' and 'Close To Me' are both great pop songs. The latter has grown on me so much! Homemade Dynamite and Sex With Me are such underrated gems.

"Homemade Dynamite" is the standout of the first batch. "Sex with Me" grew on me this year.
I was ambitious, though I didn’t know exactly what I was shooting for. Now I think it’s one of the most useless questions an adult can ask a child – What do you want to be when you grow up? As if growing up is finite. As if at some point you become something and that’s the end.

'Nintendo Game' is great, not that it would make a difference in saving the era, but I would love the song to be released as a single.

'Born To Be Yours' wasn't my thing at all, now I don't mind it but it didn't do much for me.
'Close To Me' was another song I was pretty much disappointed and as you know I was a big supporter of Ellie during the Halcyon Days / Delirium eras, so I hope she'll release another great album next year!

Yeah, I agree. 'Sex With Me' is my favorite song off 'ANTi', so it had amazing chances to do well and so it did.

'Homemade Dynamite' is a standout from the entire album for me as that one was a big flop for me.

    • TOP90
#090 JAMES BAY 'JUST FOR TONIGHT'

      PEAK: #15
      POINTS: 131, certified GOLD

#089 IMAGINE DRAGONS 'NEXT TO ME'

      PEAK: #21
      POINTS: 135, certified GOLD

      #088 SIGMA 'ANYWHERE'

      PEAK: #20
      POINTS: 136, certified GOLD

      #087 ZAYN 'LET ME'

      PEAK: #18
      POINTS: 142, certified GOLD

      #086 SHAKIRA 'ME ENAMORE'

      PEAK: #1 (2017)
      POINTS: 148, certified 6x Platinum

      #085 JESS GLYNNE 'THURSDAY'

      PEAK: #4
      POINTS: 157, certified GOLD

#084 CALVIN HARRIS 'FAKING IT (ft. KEHLANI & LIL' YACHTY)'

      PEAK: #7 (2017)
      POINTS: 159, certified Platinum

#083 CHARLI XCX 'OUT OF MY HEAD (ft. ALMA & TOVE LO)'

      PEAK: #13
      POINTS: 165, certified GOLD

#082 CALVIN HARRIS 'PROMISES (ft. SAM SMITH)'

      PEAK: #12
      POINTS: 170, certified GOLD

#081 PALOMA FAITH 'TILL I'M DONE'

      PEAK: #15
      POINTS: 188, certified GOLD

as he collaborated with alicia keys earlier this year, i checked out james bay most recent record and liked the lead single. it had a nice chart run on my charts. then there is already the third song by imagine dragons to fall, 'next to me' didn't do much for me, but i do not mind it. same for 'anywhere' by sigma, although having a nice era with 'life', the most recent songs didn't do much for me.
'let me' is zayn's very first solo song to appear in a top 100 year end chart of mine (he already charted as a member of one direction and with taylor swift on 'i don't wanna live forever').

last year's #2 charts for another year! 'me enamore' did pretty good in the first few weeks of 2018 and collected enough points to score another Top 90 position.
The most recent song of the currently posted songs is 'Thursday'. It gained enough points in the last few weeks to score a Top 90 year end position.
calvin harris loses two songs, 'faking it' from the 'funk wav bounces vol.1' era did pretty well in 2017 and slowly fell down the charts in 2018. 'promises' was not my cup of tea, both artists involved have way better songs.

charli xcx collaboration with alma & tove lo did okay for their standards and paloma faith closes this bunch of songs with 'till i'm done' being her second song on the Top 100 already.

Good start of your chart! I like Zara's song, but I think it's much weaker than her previous material.
It's always goo to see Sade. 'The Big Unknown' is beautiful.

Solid group, "Promises" is definitely my favorite here. This was one of my big highlights in 2018. "Faking It" and "Til I'm Done" are quite strong too.
Somehow I completely missed out on the James/Alicia collaboration Weird how it went unnoticed basically everywhere :-?

Yeah, as a big Alicia Keys fan I didn't even knew About it until I saw it on a 'Acoustic Hits' Playlist on Spotify.

    Lots of good already!!

Loyal is a bop, and Zara & Ellie ended up in really annular places for us. Also Anywhere nearly made my chart which would have made another similarly placed one! Songs I really like but don’t fully adore!

Let Me is one of my faves by Zayn for certain

    • Top 80
      #080 ANNE-MARIE 'CIAO ADIOS'

      PEAK: #1 (2017)
      POINTS: 189, certified 7x Platinum

#079 CHARLIE PUTH 'DONE FOR ME (ft. KEHLANI)'

      PEAK: #15
      POINTS: 191, certified GOLD

#078 IMAGINE DRAGONS 'WHATEVER IT TAKES'

      PEAK: #4 (2017)
      POINTS: 191, certified 3x Platinum

      #077 MEGHAN TRAINOR 'NO EXCUSES'

      PEAK: #12
      POINTS: 206, certified Platinum

#076 OFENBACH vs. NICK WATERHOUSE 'KATCHI'

      PEAK: #9
      POINTS: 207, certified Platinum

#075 NICKI MINAJ 'BED (ft. ARIANA GRANDE)'

      PEAK: #13
      POINTS: 208, certified Platinum

#074 DJ SNAKE 'TAKI TAKI (ft. SELENA GOMEZ, CARDI B & OZUNA)'

      PEAK: #10
      POINTS: 211, certified Platinum

      #073 THE CHAINSMOKERS 'SICK BOY'

      PEAK: #12
      POINTS: 223, certified Platinum

#072 KELLY CLARKSON 'LOVE SO SOFT'

      PEAK: #4 (2017)
      POINTS: 224, certified 2x Platinum

#071 AMY MACDONALD 'WOMAN OF THE WORLD'

      PEAK: #9
      POINTS: 237, certified Platinum

the top 80 includes some Songs that are no strangers to my year end Charts as they already charted last year. 'ciao adios' was the #1 song of 2017 and sits at #80 this year. 'whatever it takes' by imagine dragons', this year's #78, charted at #30 last year. 'love so soft' by kelly clarkson tumbles #52- #72 this year.

But there are plenty of "new entries" this year as well.
Charlie Puth collaborated w/ Kehlani this year and both scored a hit with 'Done For Me', collecting enough Points to place at #79.
Although both Artists scoring hits on my Charts, their collaboration on 'BED' didn't score another Top 10 hit for Ariana Grande nor Nicki Minaj. However it was a minor hit, almost becoming a Top 10 and certified Platinum isn't too bad.
One of the most recent hits places at #74. 'Taki taki' should be able to perform Pretty okay through 2019 aswell.

One of the favorite Songs for the Clubs sits at #76. 'Katchi' isn't something I'd listen to at home but it's a good song.
As she cancelled the original album release for 'TREAT MYSELF', Meghan Trainor only places one solo song in the Top 100 - 'No Excuses' sits at #77.

They were the #2 Artist of 2017 - The Chainsmokers didn't have a second consecutive succesful year, their most succesful song, 'Sick Boy' only placing at #73.
Amy MacDonald's latest song juts misses the Top 70 by one Point. 'Woman Of The World' places at #71.

Amy MacDonald is one of my 10 favorite Artists of all time, she had the #1 Album of 2017 and had #1 Albums with 'A Curious Thing', 'Life In A Beautiful Light' and 'Under Stars'. She's also one of the most succesful Artists on my Charts. I really adore her but she surely can do better than 'Woman Of The World'.

as they entered my Weekly Charts Pretty late in 2018, two Songs that currently still sit in the top 10 there place in the Top 70. 'Trust My Lonely' by Alessia Cara places #70, Anne-Marie's 'Perect' at #64. The latter is also the current #1 on my Charts.

Charlie Puth makes a second appearance on the Year End Charts as 'How Long' appears at #69.
Five collaboration - and non of them was a big Smash on the Weekly Charts - but they all did Pretty fine.
'lonely together' already charted a few weeks in 2017 and lost some important Points there for this year. 'river' by eminem and ed sheeran might have been a huge hit on the worldwide Charts but didn't do much on my Charts, despite Eminem being one of my favorite male Artists.
it usually doesn't get hotter than a Shakira/maluma collaboration, 'Clandestino' couldn't be as succesful as 'Chantaje'.
'Trigger Bang' by Lily Allen & Giggs just places behind Khalid & Normani's 'Love Lies'.

'Nervous' is the first entry by Shawn Mendes in the Top 100, same goes for Amanda with 'Wie Es Ist'.

    Hi luckyONE

Merry christmas to you, hope you enjoying the festive season. <3 I love how your year end chart also includes several big hits from 2017. These are my faves so far:

    #100 PALOMA FAITH 'LOYAL'
#099 ZARA LARSSON 'RUIN MY LIFE'
    #097 LORDE 'HOMEMADE DYNAMITE'

#096 ELLIE GOULDING & DIPLO 'CLOSE TO ME (ft. SWEA LEE)'

When i first listened to Close to me i genuinely thought it sounded like a potential hit in waiting, that chorus especially lifts the song. Then it kinda fizzled out on iTunes and only Spotify seemed to help this songs fortunes. Now i'm even more curious to see what the follow up single will be like.

#095 FLORENCE + THE MACHINE 'SKY FULL OF SONGS'
#093 JUSTIN BIEBER + BLOODPOP 'FRIENDS'
#091 KYGO 'BORN TO BE YOURS (ft. IMAGINE DRAGONS)'
    #087 ZAYN 'LET ME'
    #086 SHAKIRA 'ME ENAMORE'

    #085 JESS GLYNNE 'THURSDAY'

Aww i'm so happy i'm not the only who loves this song. I love the vocal melody in the track plus Jess Glynne was one of the most successful singers in my chart between 2014 and 2015, and i know how much you love Jess too. For me personally, Thursday is the best song Jess has released this year. <3

#082 CALVIN HARRIS 'PROMISES (ft. SAM SMITH)'
#081 PALOMA FAITH 'TILL I'M DONE'
    #080 ANNE-MARIE 'CIAO ADIOS'
#079 CHARLIE PUTH 'DONE FOR ME (ft. KEHLANI)'
#078 IMAGINE DRAGONS 'WHATEVER IT TAKES'

#076 OFENBACH vs. NICK WATERHOUSE 'KATCHI'

Ohh wow, i entered this into the FSC last year and this completely took me by surprise because it that won that months contest. It peaked at #2 in my chart shortly after and one amongst my top 30 biggest songs of 2017.

#075 NICKI MINAJ 'BED (ft. ARIANA GRANDE)'
    #073 THE CHAINSMOKERS 'SICK BOY'
    #069 CHARLIE PUTH 'HOW LONG'
#068 AVICII 'LONELY TOGETHER (ft. RITA ORA)'
#066 EMINEM 'RIVER (ft. ED SHEERAN)'
    #065 SHAKIRA 'CLANDESTINO (ft. MALUMA)'
#062 LILY ALLEN 'TRIGGER BANG (ft. GIGGS)'
#061 KHALID 'LOVE LIES (ft. NORMANI) (SNAKEHIPS REMIX)'

Can't wait to see the rest of this chart as we both have a shared love for pop music.

"Whatever It Takes" is incredible - my favourite ID song, and one of my top tracks of 2017. "Bed" is similarly impressive, and so catchy! I adore "Love So Soft" as well - fine instrumentation, and killer vocals from the original Idol queen.

"Nervous" is so cute! It probably has the most adorable video of the year. "Love Lies" is lovely.
I was ambitious, though I didn’t know exactly what I was shooting for. Now I think it’s one of the most useless questions an adult can ask a child – What do you want to be when you grow up? As if growing up is finite. As if at some point you become something and that’s the end.

''Trigger Bang'' is alright, but Giggs was a bit out of place in this for me, without him it would have been a great chill pop tune.

My goodness Love So Soft feels about five years old but I love it ha.

We placed Meghan similarly! Great to see Lily and Shawn here as well as Alessia even though I didn't find places for those tunes. Charlie P is the other one I really got into, low-key bop.
