Thread: The Eurodance Era 1993 - 1996

  1. #1

The Eurodance genre was highly successful for several years in the 1990s, selling millions of singles mainly Europe but with some
rare occasions in the United States as well.
It's not possible to open endless topics about each and every one of these countless Eurodance hits that charted
throughout the 90s, so I thought it will be a good idea to discuss them with the help of a monthly Videomix.
The Videomix will contain all the biggest Eurodance hits of the same month, so feel free to discuss about any of them
I'll start with the month of December 1993:

If there'll be a demand I'll cover it as well.

Many songs sound very similar, like it is the case with most Eurodance songs in general. Loft's 'Hold On' stands out, it's almost as good as 'Summer Summer' which was a German top 10 hit at the time.

    Indeed!
But unlike the dance music nowdays (or more accurate to say in the past decade) the melodies were very original and changed constantly.
In this videomix the "german sound" was very dominant, but it will change in early 1994 when Italy will start to set the tone along with the UK.

    Indeed
Shame that out of all of January dance hits only Apollo 440, Bass Bumpers, DJ Duke and Lisa B managed to enter the UK Top-40.

What a great time. In the video from 1992 to 1994 there were so many songs I loved back then and still do. Loved these as a little child.

Great music, all! '92-'94 one was really tops!

Was wondering about La Bouche - Sweet Dreams was included.
Think they deserve to have this one posted as well

    Thanx!
I will get to them ofc
I'm doing it in a chronological order, so we'll meet Sweet Dreams in July when it will hit
the Italian charts before spreading across Europe.
