It’s back tonight, just had Lonnie Donnegan’s son on!

And he sang with Tom, who sounded amazing.

I agree! A great start to the series. With lots of good singers.
Tom Jones is already top 20 on iTunes with that song he sang

How long until Jennifer Hudson does an audience singalong to Spotlight?

The firefighter who sang Show Me Heaven had zero star quality but I adored his voice on that song.

How loud were the audience while that poor girl was trying to sing Lost Without You?! Could barely hear her.

If they’re doing trios they may as well just allow all groups.

Tom singing the song with Lonnie’s son was a great moment, Tom’s voice is legendary.

That blonde 17 year old looked more like 27!

The girl who sang Never Enough was just OK, she didn’t do anything special with it... but the duet with Jennifer was amazing.

I'll Never Fall in Love Again by Tom Jones is #12 and #32 on UK iTunes (combined would be #9).

He also has two albums on the iTunes top 40 (The Decca Years at #21 and The Best of...Tom Jones at #36).

I don't care if some are saying that Tom Jones duet was staged - it was an amazing moment. I can't believe how amazing his voice is. I hadn't heard the song before but I loved it.

Glad that arrogant guy from Manchester didn’t get through.

Flat Pack were good but would be good to hear them sing something non-Swing next.

I was delighted he didn't get through, the dictionary definition of average - that said, he'd be a semi-finalist on the X Factor these days.

No stand outs for me last night - though I did quite like the gay man who sang Higher Ground.

It's clearly the new thing to get Tom up and singing. Not complaining though, he's amazing.

Week one was better, loved the Stevie Wonder guy, quite liked the girl who sang Skyscraper but would like to hear her sing something else, didn’t get the hype for the guy at the end who sang Hallelujah, his performance was way too erratic.

Shame this girl didn’t get through, I thought she was better than the girl who sang Lullaby.

The woman who did In My Blood was pretty phenomenal but no star quality at all (as is usual with this show).

LOL at 3/5 of Yes Lad auditioning.

Those 3 Yes Lad chaps didn't come across well IMO - didn't think they were very good individually either.

Bless Olly, I wonder what Tom thinks when he hears that "voice" - good job he's beautiful and has amazing stage presence.

The lady who sang really well at the end reminded me of Leann Jarvis from a few years ago who was a great singer but had zero stage presence...

Ronan Keating's daughter didn't get through, but she really gave Drops of Jupiter a boost on iTunes.
The blind auditions are done. I always think it looses a lot of it's appeal now that stage is done. The rest seems pointless, never quite matches up to the X-Factor live shows.

Except she didn’t sing Drops Of Jupiter, a man did

It never matches X Factor because they get rid of too many at once, so you don’t get a chance to bond with the acts, although X Factor is doing that now too.

I liked the girl who sang at the end, she was quirky. The guy who sang Wonderwall was SO nervous!

It's all these modern songs, they go into one ear and out the other two me. I had to look it up on the net, to find out who sang it anyway, because even though I watched it as was also doing something else at the same time. The answer I gave was what the Net said. Shows how good the net is at times!!

One thing that i've noticed is that you'll have someone do their blind audition and they sing a show tune, opera or jazz song and i'm really impressed by their vocals but nobody turns for them.

Then on the flip side someone does a current chart hit for their blind audition and i'm struggling to enjoy their vocals - and they get at least one turn and i'm like

Even now i honestly haven't a clue who is going to win this series. I've been totally wowed by that one singer in their audition that left me thinking "yes, the winner is here". It'll make the next couple of weeks interesting to see who emerges victorious at the end.

The girl who sang Mabel was quite bad, I was surprised Will turned.

I think that is because the judges are uncertain that such an act can cross over to singing more commercial songs. They also know that the commercial market is limited for that style of singing.
Will i am has in the past turned for some of them and tried to break them into the commercial market, but with little effect.

That performance was great, blasted the original version to number 17 on iTunes!
I missed the end of the show, to watch La La Land, which I hadn't seen before, rather a bizarre film
So did anything else on the Voice after 9pm that was anything good?

Jennifer and Will’s teams wiped out! Tom’s team always seems to do so well

To be fair, there was not one bad performance in the semi-final so it was tough. I’d have swapped Deana out (because she reminds me of a female Antony Russell).

    Molly or Bethzienna to win.

I tend to think Tom is very clever with his song choices and really propel the contestant. Whereas with will.i.am it's the opposite, i feel he hinders his acts sometimes with poor song choices.

So three girls in the final. I'd love Molly to win. <3

    Jimmy will win it though.

Like the time Will made the best singer in the show (Leah McFall) sing Bang Bang with him and totally destroyed her chance of winning

Will is the worst thing about this show when it hits the live stages. Maybe that’s why they now only have two live shows!

Jimmy is good but if he wins it’ll be because his dad died more than anything.
