What an outstanding song is Courage, it hits hard. Personally i think i even prefer this album to Beautiful Trauma, and i was a big fan of that record. I love that she delved even deeper with the lyrics ans also the ballads are more unconventional.

I think this album isn't as bad as some on here make it out to be. Masterpiece? No! Quick shot? Maybe! Quality? Yes indeed. If people didn't have the attention span from Ava to Max, this could actually please a lot of people. But she clearly doesn't have teens as a core audience anymore, she focuses on adult problems and adult thoughts (see Circle Game) which isn't relatable for most younger persons or people without children. I like the record and will spin it for the coming weeks...
I feel like it is just cool to not like her right now, a curse which hits every singer sooner or later (waiting for RiRi and Taylor and even Ariana)
I don't think the topics she sings about are the real problem, atleast not for me personally. I like a lot of acts who sing about their role as parents etc. while I can't relate to that in any way or form. It's more that the material mainly feels like it is not her material. Like Courage is great, but it is a Sia track and you can hear that. Same for Hustle, you can hear that Dan from Imagine Dragons was involved and even Walk Me Home sounds exactly like you would think a song Nate Ruess would be involved in. The tracks are not bad but they lack a lot of identity. And the odd thing is that she even released two of her most 'faceless' tracks before the album was even out, while there are some great tracks on this album. Also some of the ballads sounds a bit too basic, while there are some tracks on her You+Me project that are far superiour which didn't even got the time to shine since a lot of people don't even know that project excists.

True about Courage!!! You can basically hear SIA, that is a big no-no, you are right. It bugs me as well.
Hustle, well I don't think it's mainly Dan, I think she can also do a song like this, it somehow reminds me of Try this, but you are right, it is a bit Imagine Dragons-style, but for me that is because of his voice.
Walk me home to me doesn't sound like Nate at all, but sounds like her.
You are also right about You+Me which got too little attention, I love most of that album.
It's not as solid as her earlier works are, but this is probably her strongest offering since Funhouse. Love Me Anyway, Hustle, Courage and Hey Why are my favourites.
According to your descriptions, it totally sounds like another 'Britney Jean'-, 'Piece by Piece'- or 'Lotus'-esque scenario: Albums that were OK but lacked identity and neither had commercial nor critical success, mainly serving as a way to finish existing contracts. Maybe labels should reconsider their contract policies if they currently lead to half-assed eras that no party involved (label, artist, fans) seems to be fully satisfied with.

The Piece by Piece comparison really fits well for me.

Yeah, somehow it fits, but I also loved Piece by Piece. And if that means we will get P!NKs equivalent to Meaning of life next, then everything is great for me.
