About freaking time! I am so excited for this. That’s her Oscar sorted in February 2021.

    Jake Gyllenhaal as Joe please.

I just saw the news and was about to open the thread

I'm extremely happy about this. She'll definitely get that Oscar.

I'm so excited for the soundtrack. So many wonderful tracks like With One Look, The Perfect Year, Sunset Boulevard, As If We Never Said Goodbye.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is THE musical genius of 20th century.

I think Sondheim is better, but itís a close call. Andrew certainly had a more commercial appeal and became much more prolific with his long runners - he pretty much owned the west end in the 80s and 90s (and now actually owns part of the west end as a result!)

Iím so familiar with Glennís cast recording of this itís almost unimaginable to think I might replace it with a soundtrack. However I look forward to new song(s) and scenes and I pray daily that Jake Gyllenhaal is cast as Joe, as I canít imagine anyone else being as perfect for the role as him (and I am in love with his singing voice).

Wile ALW is definitely more commercially successful, I think Sondheim is a much more clever composer. I only know a handful of songs from this musical, my favourite being As If We Never Said Goodbye.

I can't believe they've removed Glenn Close version of the musical from streaming services. It's not on iTunes either. Guess this means it's coming.

They should just start shooting this already. I'm really impatient for this one.
