If you would've told me even 10 years ago that Backstreet Boys would have the top-selling album YTD of 2019, I would've laughed in your face - I know we're only two months in, but there's already been a couple of big name releases so it's still impressive IMO.

    Thanks for the numbers @oldbloke!

    Kamikaze: Sales 518K / SPS 1.22m
    Curtain Call: Sales 4.28m

The tracks on Curtain Call mostly come from his first 4 studio albums + Lose Yourself from the 8 Mile soundtrack album.

As all those albums have higher sales than CC, they would get the SEA/TEA.

Sorry i don't understand the Billboard 200 decade end chart, i assume it is my problem but The marshall Mathers LP 2 its 4 x platinum but in the list has 2.95m. Why is there such a huge difference?

Because the billboard decade end chart considerates only the sales/sps from the weeks that the album was inside the bb200.

In the case of MMLP2, all the sps made by The Monster, Rap God, Berzeck, etc from 2013 to november 2014 didn't count for this chart, because after november 2014, billobard only cunts pure album sales and not SPS for the billboard 200. That explain the difference.

I didn't see "Watch The Throne" by Jay-Z and Kanye West.

And Tha Carter IV by Lil Wayne have some points on SPS (it was in the bb200 for 3 weeks during the first weeks of Tha Carter V).

Thinking about those Decade-end lists from Billboard...
Those will be a biiiig mess.

    Feels like Mediatraffic mess

Like first the chart was pure sales only and then second half of the decade SPS...
It'll be a mix from pure sales + pure sales and SPS.. a tragedy

They'll be using some sort of inverse point system based on weekly positions for many decade-end as they done for the All-Time charts. For the Greatest of All Time Billboard 200 chart:

    "How This Chart Works

Sales Data + Streaming Data = GREATEST OF ALL TIME BILLBOARD 200 ALBUMS

These all-time rankings are based on actual performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 (from its launch on Aug. 4, 1958 through Oct. 10, 2015) and Billboard 200 (from Aug. 17, 1963 — when we combined our two leading pop album album charts for stereo and mono releases into one all-encompassing weekly chart — through Oct. 10, 2015). Titles are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at lower rungs earning the least. Due to changes in chart methodology over the years, eras are weighted differently to account for chart turnover rates over various periods. Artists are ranked based on the combined point totals, as outlined above, of all their Hot 100 or Billboard 200 chart entries."

I checked these and it's down to the BB methodology.

Thanks for spotting - had a Jay Z / Jay-Z listing discrepancy in the db.
    I've corrected the list.

Let me know if you find anymore.

The BB200 decade chart for the 2000s published in December 2009 was based on charted sales, and was produced by combining the stats from the 10 year ends.

I was assuming they'd do the same thing for the 2010s.
