The Prodigy's Keith Flint has died at the age of 49.

The singer, famous for his Firestarter, was found dead at his home today.

Police are still at his property in Essex, but officers are not treating the death as suspicious.

An Essex Police spokesman told The Sun: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday

"We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

I know dance music isn't popular on UKMIX, but for anybody who grew up in 90s Europe, this guy was one of the most recognisable and infamous faces in music!

I'd be lying if I'd say I was a Prodigy fan, but I did love both "Out Of Space" and "No Good (Start The Dance)". They were undeniably one of the most iconic and instantly recognisable acts of the 90s - a long lasting successful act in a genre dominated by one hit wonders.

It's always such a terrible shame when someone gets to the stage where they feel the need to take their own life. May he rest in peace, a peace he clearly can't have been feeling in his final days.

Wow. Their music videos scared me as a child, but they had some great songs. Horrible news.

Very sad. Prodigy are one of the best dance acts ever.
Their legacy is massive. Shame I never got to see them live

Another one that passed away too young
This is my contribution for this great band.

This is such a shock. They changed the music landscape. It's obviously still Liam's baby but i can't see them having much of an identity minus Keith.

I loved their music, since I've heard Firestarter. They had such influence on dance music, true legends. Such a loss for dance music. Rest in peace.

This is such sad and shocking news! I remember I always used to dislike their music, and even found it scary, when I was young and their videos were on the telly all the time. So while I was not a fan, I do have early childhood memories of them as a band.

Agree with those who say he was one of the most recognisable faces of British dance music and the 90s in general. Who can forget the furore caused by Firestarter? RIP to a great musician.

This comes as quite a shock! They all pass way too soon. It's very sad, indeed.
Never was a true fan but credit goes to who deserves it. Hope he's in a better place now.

I often wonder why celebrities take their own life. You would think they have wealth and access to the best mental health treatment available but it appears that isn't always enough. It's just sad. Firestarter was one of the most memorable videos of my childhood. It scared me as a child.

Yes, their music was part of my childhood too and I think especially the Firestarter video scared me, but the songs are really good and important for the music and dance scene I would say.

It's likely their own insecurities make them famous in the first place, then when they get even more famous they become more insecure in themselves. Money is actually a curse in these cases, since it can buy drugs and drink, which increase the risk of health problems. There's a lot of pressure in the music industry too. Your only as good as your last best selling album. If you can't come up with another then nobody wants to know you.
You only have to look at the people going for talent singing shows to see how being a big thing can be to somebody.
But for all that there are still people who think you are useless. Dire Straits, even sang that once, "maybe get a blister on your thumb". - "We Have to move these colour TV's."

John Lydon got asked about his death by TMZ at a premiere for his film. This is devestating. I had no idea he even liked The Prodigy, never mind befriending Keith Flint. I remember him making some comments about "pretend punks" around that era (before and after Green Day etc).
Clearly, it's giving him flashbacks to Sid.

Very sad to see such a recognizable face from the golden 90's era pass in such tragic circumstances. This era of music brings back many fond memories - very sad
