    from wiki:

"Material Girl" is a song recorded by American singer Madonna for her second studio album Like a Virgin (1984). It was released on January 23, 1985, by the Sire label as the second single from Like a Virgin. It also appears slightly remixed on the 1990 greatest hits compilation, The Immaculate Collection, and in its original form on the 2009 greatest hits compilation, Celebration. The song was written by Peter Brown and Robert Rans, while Nile Rodgers produced the track. Madonna explained that the concept of the song was indicative of her life at that time, and she liked it because she felt it was provocative.

I have always disliked Material Girl. My least favorite song on LAV and one of my least favorite Madonna ones in general.
    Haven't been early since '88

This was the song that really got me interested in Madonna.
I loved Holiday, but wasn't really curious about the person behind it.
Like A Virgin was a song I liked too, but not in the way I loved Holiday.
But then there was Material Girl and I fell in love with, so when Crazy For You and Angel were released I paid extra attention and bought the Like A Virgin album. A fan ever since.

It's been stuck in my head ever since the Stranger Things episode and I can't get it out.
Always liked this one a lot.
I can't recall when I heard it for the first time, it just was "always there" on the radio when I was a child.
That and "La Isla Bonita" were some of favorite Madonna songs before I even knew who she was.

Still the song most associated with her whenever the press mention her. The 'Material Girl'. 80's Madonna can't be beat, great track and great video .. even if a blatant 'homage' to 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes'. Also she'd never have met Sean, although that might have been a good thing. But then I'd never have got the fabulous 'Till Death Do Us Part'
It might sound like I'm an unapologetic bitch
But sometimes you know I gotta call it like it is

I remember being very awed when she leaned back during the song's breakdown and show as much breast as possible without any nipple showing. Wonder if the b-rolls have any wardrobe malfuncs.

Oh, I know exactly which part your talking about in PDP..and I believe at least one of those frames contains a small mirco-hint of nipple. Or at least, that's what it looked like to my adolescent eyes with the VCR paused...

There was a nipple showing in Papa Don't Preach. I had this article cut out for my scrapbook and it had several pictures of the video to show the nipple (sort of in slow motion).
