After 2 years of waiting finally I started to work over my all-time "Top songs from girl groups" list.

So I need some recommendations from you.

    What's I already know and heard :
    - all girl group songs from UK chart (from start in 1952 to 2019)
    - most girl group songs from US Hot 100 (from start to 2019)

    - most Lithuanian girl groups
    - some European girl groups, related to Eurovision and Melodifestivalen

    Restrictions :
    1. Genre
I don't want to stuck only on pure pop music, so try to include country and even rock girl groups (like Hole).

    2. Countries
I will like to restrict my ambitions to Europe and English language countries with good traditions in music (United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada).

The biggest hole in my music knowledge is ex-Yugoslavia countries and Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria)

All recommendations from any year are welcome, if they belongs to mentioned criteria.

    Some underrated Legendary Girl Groups..

    1. En Vogue (USA)

    Memorable Songs:
    -Don't Let Go (Love)
    -Hold On
-Never Gonna Get It (My Lovin')
    -Free Your Mind
    -Whatta Man (with Salt-N-Pepa)

*En Vogue was the return of the vocal Girl Group, starting in late 1989. They were unique because there was NO lead singer and all were/are very beautiful women with huge voices. They were at the beginning of the 'New jack Swing' era which fused hip-hop and R&B. They also had 6 #1 R&B hits during the 90s, which is more than any other girl group during that decade. Don't Let Go is their biggest global hit.

    2. The Crystals (USA)
    Memorable Songs:
    -And Then He Kissed Me
    -Da Doo Ron Ron
    -He's A Rebel

*The Crystals were considered THE raining girl group of the early 60s, until The Supremes took over. When Rolling Stone Magazine first published their "Greatest Songs Ever" list, The Crystals were the only girl group to have 3 songs listed on the 500 song list. Two songs however dropped off when a new list was published. They had a very unique sound and their vocals were a perfect match for Phil Spector's incredible productions. Their hit 'And Then He Kissed Me' was covered by the legendary Beach Boys, and has appeared in classic films such as 'Adventures In Babysitting' and 'Goodfellas.'

    3. Salt-N-Pepa (USA)
    Memorable Songs:
    -Shoop
    -Push it
    -Let's Talk About Sex
    -Whatta Man (with En Vogue)

*Salt-N-Pepa along with DJ Spinderella are truly game changing artists. They were the first female rap artist to have global success and to win a Grammy award. Their hits are truly known by many as CLASSICS. Their hit album "Very Necessary" is certified 5x-Platinum by RIAA, which is the highest certification for a female Rap album. When you think of some of the most memorable songs of the 80s and 90s, their records should definitely come to mind.

    Wilson Phillips (USA):
Carnie and Wendy Wilson, daughters of Beach Boy Brian Wilson and Chynna Phillips, daughter of Michelle Phillips from the Mama's and the Papa's. This threesome scored #1 hits in the early 90s with Hold On, Release Me and You're In Love. Wilson Phillips also made history as Billboard declared their debut album the best-selling album of all time by an all female group, peaking at number two on the Billboard 200 album chart, and selling over 5 million copies in the US and over 10 million copies worldwide, which also made Wilson Phillips, at the time, the best-selling female group of all time for a single album, breaking the previous record set by The Supremes.

    The Supremes (USA):
The Supremes were the most commercially successful of Motown's acts and are, to date, America's most successful vocal group with 12 number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100.

    Eternal (UK):
The group became an international success, selling around 10 million records worldwide. In total they achieved 15 UK Top 20 hits between 1993 and 1999. Their debut album went 4x Platinum, making it one of 1994's biggest selling albums and the year's biggest selling debut album. They were named Best Group at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party, and were nominated for four Brit Awards.

    Atomic Kitten (UK):
    Whole Again

    Sugababes (UK):

I misread your initial post, I thought it's a suggestion for some unknown girl bands...
For the best-ever list suggestions I may still leave:
The Veronicas - Take Me On The Floor - electropop realness
Plasticines - Bitch - french indie pop girlband peak
Say Lou Lou - Better in the Dark - swedish-australian girl duo with their stylish effort
Nikita - Verevki - this ukrainian band deserves a mention just for reaching the absolute visual peak of "slutpop" genre
Sahara Hotnights - On Top Of Your World - brilliant all-girl rock from Sweden!
G Girls - Call The Police - just the premise of biggest Romanian popstars uniting in a girl group is weird, but anyway

You are right, I want to find more low-known groups.

    What's I already know and heard :
    - all girl group songs from UK chart (from start in 1952 to 2019)
    - most girl group songs from US Hot 100 (from start to 2019)
Of course I could miss something from these 2 charts, but it's a level of low-known\forgotten girl group with 2-3 songs, peaked in the lowest part of top 100 in pre-90s.

From 90s first Fergie's group Wild Orchid is a good sample, only 3 songs in Billboard top 100 and the most successful was peaked only at # 48.

From other charts my knowledge is not so good, but of course I know all Eurovision girl groups (No Angels, Maywood, Serebro, Moje 3, Vanilla Ninja e.t.c), include Melodifestivalen (Timotej, Cookies'N'Beans, Graaf) + small numbers of groups with European hits (Luv', Me & My, Benefit, K3).

I can help with Croatia. Where there was an option of better audio I put it instead of shitty videos (nobody bothers to upload older Croatian music videos in good quality).

Cacadou Look (this was the first all female Yugoslavian group who not only wrote all the music and lyrics for their debut but was actually the first all female group that published full LP in Yugoslavia. It's a shame these girls only made two album in total, but they smashed with hits back then. It's synth laced pop rock music. And the cover for the LP is a beautiful picture. Love it!)
    Kao pjesma
    Sama
    Budi mi prijatelj
    Baš kao nekad
    Baum Bam Bam

E.N.I. (started off as Spice Girls clones with their ESC song, but evolved into pop/rock/indie/alt group)
    Probudi me
    Ti si moja ruža
    Mara Pogibejčić
    Polaroid
    Traži se dečko
    Oči su ti ocean

Divas (shitty persons, but good band, I don't think there was any other R&B group in any other ex-Yu country with success like these girls. They did change genres later on though. And I have no idea why some of their earlier stuff is in terrible quality uploaded.)
    Sexy Cool
    Funky Maniac
    Oprosti mi
S tobom pristajem na sve (Ne krivi me)
    Da ili ne
    Bon apettit

Meritas (interesting female duo, I personally don't like their music too much, but they had an interesting approach, hard to box them into a single genre, especially considering this music is from the early 2000's and it's not what you'd expect a girl band to release)
    Igra
    Slučajno
    Budim se

There are some new (mostly lesbian) girl groups in Croatia today, but they sound like shit to me, so I won't bother with mentioning them. There were also very trashy girl groups (like Feminnem) who went for easy hits, without any musical identity or some kind of natural evolution so I don't respect them enough to mention them. If some other Croatian/ex-Yu guy has something to add, be my guest.

Netherlands had many good girl groups in 70s and 80s, but sadly I know only Luv', Dolly Dots and Maywood.
Possibly German residents will help me, did you have any girl groups in past (somewhere from 70s to 90s) before No Angels ?

Tic Tac Toe were the biggest German girl group of the 90s. Songs like 'Verpiss dich', 'Warum' or 'Ich find dich scheiße' were huge.

Yeah, Tic Tac Toe were biiig! But now that you mentioned Warum, there was another song from another German girl group band. More pop. The video was on the sea/lake in some parts. End of 90's, beginning of 00s. Also 3 girls, maybe 4. I don't know if the song was named Warum, but they were saying it a lot in the chorus. Do you maybe know it?

That one doesn't ring a bell. Was the song in German or in English?

@beredy Is this the one? There's no like, but "Wieso" and "Warum" are mentioned repeatedly.

'Just More' was by far the biggest success from this list. Wonderwall's follow-up 'In April' wasn't as successful though I personally liked it better.

    Another example from Germany:
    Milk & Honey - Habibi (Je t'aime) (a top 20 hit in 2006)

Wonderwall: They are both cute. "Just More" is phenomenal, though.
Milk & Honey: Oh, I forgot about that one! It has a killer hook.

@Benny the song was in German. I don't remember much. I do remember the chorus melody, the lyrics were something like (bold is what I'm sure, italic what I'm not, la la is words I don't remember ):

Warum, warum la la la la la la
Es ist (das ist?) warum la la la mit
Un fal lass (?), mit dem la la la
La la la warum la la la la

@trebor Not even close, this is pure pop song. It played on Viva all the time too.

    'Just More' was massive...
How sad that they became a one-hit wonder!
